Has anyone watched a TV commercial and just wondered WHY??? I was sitting in my living room, watching Space Ghost C2C, and enjoying some Crystal Pepsi... which was stored away in some barren, dark room. When low and behold...

... this was staring at me from my TV!!!
Now I admit, I was a little frightened at first. Who wouldn't fear a banjo-playing rat and his beaver friend jump on your screen, growling: "They got a pepper bar!" (Shear terror) at 12am! The Pepsi wasn't doing it for me either! Through nerves of steel, the entire series of Witch Hunter Robin's commercials that followed I fell in love with the lil' beasts. So I decided to do a little research on these "Mmm... mmm... mmm... mmm... mmm... toasty" sub chucking weasels and what I found may disturb you!
Rat, weasel, and beaver as they look... it turns out these little blood suckers are called 'Sponge Monkeys' and I don't mean 'Square Pants'. The origin website, where the monkeys came from. I found that my terror has just begun!!! I did a quick search for the pokemon rejects and found myself at a place called: rathergood.com
The wackos who made this site had a whole slue of evil songs. They envolved big teethed cats, crabs with Darth Vader's face, and the infamous "Mr. Stabby"! A haven for some... I know, but a nightmare to others who didn't expect it! I had to watch most of it just to find those adorable Sponge Monkeys amongst the insanity. After about 30 min watching these shorts, and replying them with more of the 'WHY' looming in my head, I clicked on the "We Like The Moon" link. I've never heard two mythological creatures express such a hard on for the moon before! It was magical!!! From spoons, to zeppelins, to cheese they showed that the moon is up there... way up there! The moral of this story is... sometimes it's best to wonder why and just watch your d@mn commercials!!!
P.S. Here's another commercial you might have forgotten: http://www.boardsmag.com/screeningroom/2002topdirectors/traktor/ |

In the computer RPG Morrowind there's a file that holds the background music which plays in a random rotation as you traverse the landscape. The music is in MP3 format, so it's pretty easy to add stuff to the file. Some people drop in Carmina Burana, or the LOTR soundtracks.
I've added "The Moon Song" to my game. |

I know the commercials you speak of, and I tried explaining them to people but they would just look at me like I had just suffered massive brain trauma.
Easily THE wackiest and most twistedly brilliant things I have ever seen functioning as commercials. You've got me curious about these other similar creatures. |

| Anyone have a "sponge monkey" avatar yet? :) Doesn't someone have a viking kitty icon? (I didn't know what that was until I saw a couple of the flash cartoons on that site.) |
