No one's got me yet... Mao-chan did a cute one... she said, "I wrote a poem for you Daddo" and handed me a little scroll. As I unrolled it, it read The Poem
then further down,
Sorry! Happy April Fools Day! Mao-chan
I got Mao-mama good... she had a big meeting scheduled with clients at 8 am. She had to leave earlier than usual, and drive to the location (she usually takes the train downtown). I got up really early and turned all the downstairs clocks ahead one hour, then made breakfast as usual.
She came down, started eating and talking about her route that morning and the radio traffic report... then she spotted one of the clocks and stopped dead silent. "Is that really the time?" She looked at another clock. She thought she was an hour late. The meeting was going to start in 10 minutes. She started running around and she was screeching, "How could that be right? Are you serious? Why didn't you tell me? Oh my god are you serious?" Her voice had risen a couple of octaves, like an LP going from 33 to 45 rpm. Then she walked back into the kitchen, her voice coming back down again, "I fell for it... You jerkhead... (laughing) This is an hour fast... BAKA! SLAP! (Ouch!)"
K-boy laughed, pointed at Mao-mama, and said, "You a silly face! You a silly face!"
We had a nice leisurely breakfast after that...
The kicker is that I wanted to share the scene with Mao-chan, who was sleeping in until her usual time to get up (it's spring break after all).... SO I VIDEOTAPED THE WHOLE THING! |

it's been unfairly tame around here. All my family is GONE all day! The only people I would prank are out of town, some until next week, some indefinately.
.... Remember, folks! "Spring back" this sunday! ha ha! |

I did think of an unusually ill-spirited prank today though... even having forgotten that it was April First.
Put a few razor blades in your friend's laundry basket. The chances of them cutting themselves are minor, but once they've gone through the washing machine (or, God forbid, the dryer) the prank has run its course. You should use trapazoidal razors, since they have more blade area and pointier corners. Their narrow profile will go through fabric more easily, as well... you can pick these up at any hardware store, of course. But who would do such a thing? I said I thought of it, not that I would. It's my laundry I'm doing today, after all! I just happened to notice a dull razor blade in the trash next to the basket. |

So water really does make up over 50% of the planet;s total mass! The conspiracy theorists were right! |

April Fools Unite!
Btw, there is a nice piece on Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki in today's Telegraph, though there is no mention of a Totoro remake... ^=^ |
