Among other things. I turned on the TV and an old episode of Family Matters was on tv. It was a, well, I forget the name. Basically, Urkel was presenting parts of other episodes having to do with romance, and one was an episode about Valentine's Day between Carl and his wife. Carl gives his wife some extremely wilted flowers, a box of chocolate he'd eaten from, and a card he'd fished out of her collection of cards he'd given her years ago. She, on the other hand, gave him a bronzed keychain made from their kids' baby bracelets. The next day (I think), she comes home to a room full of fresh roses, romantic music, etc. It was honestly one of the sweetest things I've seen on tv lately. Sure, you could say it was a tad corny, but it was really sweet.

So what has happened to the romance? You see plenty of torrid romances, messed up romances, betrayal, etc. Maybe I'm just not watching the things that have romance? Seems like everyone is too jaded to feel pleasure watching such things. *sniffle*

Anyway, as far as Family Matters goes...I wanted to be in that family, rotfl. They were so cool and well-adjusted. ;) Okay, so perhaps Urkel didn't qualify as cool, but he was a good person (the character was a good person, not necessarily the actor).

Didn't the youngest daughter become a porn actress? There was a thread about it here somewhere.

Think so. But the TV family...lol. Of course, tv families only have such issues when the creators decide they feel like making one of the kids do drugs or some such nonsense. ;)

Are you talking about "When Harry Met Sally" type romance? Or more tragic/angst-ridden stuff? I'm assuming we're not talking about soap operas...

Just catch some Bollywood on cable or satellite! Try Devdas, or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, or maybe Mujhse Dosti Karoge!

You've never seen Family Matters? Shocking. I mean tradition-inspired sweet romance.

Hmm...While You Were Sleeping comes to mind. >:P Yeah, yeah. Lots of people don't like it...but it is sweet.

Um, how about, like, Sid & Nancy? That was the first movie I had to sneak in to see, and it was kinda romantic. Not that different from DEVDAS if you think about it.
