Thirsty? Like Anime? Wonder what's going on?
Well, wonder no more. Welcome to the first anime trivia contest, a variation on Guess That Movie\Celebrity. I'll be your host and hneline will cohost. She'll be along in a few.
Here's a few rules. This is a question and answer game. Each player asks a yes-or-no question. Once it's been answered, you can ask another.
The winner, whoever guesses the movie correctly, can (if they want) (and i think you should!) take a turn picking a movie and answering questions. Other prizes that are available include trips to places you already regularly visit; smelling something nice; or being praised highly by your fellow greenciners. Thanks to DPowers here.
Think anime and let's have fun and play....
I am thinking of an anime flick... |

> Thirsty? Like Anime? Wonder what's going on?
And, whilst waiting for the trivia goodness to flow, should you like to know whether you'll trip over your dog tomorrow morning or whether that cute guy (or girl) at the coffee shop will come in to work with a nose piercing on Monday, feel free to ask for your fortune. The Magic 8 ball is ready! |

in other words, you want to know if a giant fire-breathing robot samurai is going to attack your new home. it's true, these last minute details can ruin your move. but, you had the foresight years ago to virtually eliminate the giant monsters risk by choosing to live outside of tokyo. smart!
does it have a good view? |

Do you have any stout on tap?
Is it 'Vampire Hunter D'? (sorry, I've only seen 3 anime so I can only guess them in order)
Will the San Jose SaberCats win the Arena Bowl this year? |

Well, exactly.
> it's true, these last minute details can ruin your move. but, you had the foresight years ago to virtually eliminate the giant monsters risk by choosing to live outside of tokyo. smart!
Oh, like that helped New York when that German fellow decided "Size matters."
Listen, you just can't worry enough these days. You think giant fire-breathing robot samurai haven't heard of globalization? They may not have a great vocabulary but it's not like they don't watch CNN or anything.
> does it have a good view?
Unfortunately, no. But you can't have everything. Well, let me rephrase that. We can't afford everything. So we opted for space. Of all criteria, space came in first, and ja!, we got it.
Well, my trivia question is still hanging out there, so I'll just be over here sipping my free Pils. |

[[Finds AK's swami turban, puts it on the crystal ball near the ouija board, finding there a samurai helmet. A classic pose is struck...Japanese bells and cymbals intro music...ô?]]
The below is translated from damaged sacred scrolls:
>>>is it from japan?
Samurais perceive technology as a way of advancing ahead.
>>>Made after 1990?
Hia!
>>>And will our family live well and prosper in the new apartment we'll finally be 100% moved into by the end of the month?
A writer's house can be free of woes and cares, homilies to domestic gods.
>>>would the main character consider itself demonic, or half-demonic?
Not the protagonist, yet the antagonist personifies evil.
>>>a giant fire-breathing robot samurai
Sorry, the text is a little vague here but, the English short answer is: No.
>>>does it have a good view?
No clarity here.
>>>Do you have any stout on tap?
How about a Sapporo?
>>>Is it 'Vampire Hunter D'?...
The Magic 8 ball now comes into play and stuck in the middle: YES & NO.
>>>Will the San Jose SaberCats win the Arena Bowl this year?
In an enclosed green field, the ancient animals go head to head, toe to toe.
>>>we opted for space...
Space is good for the family to grow ...
I must get the other scrolls now. |

[[ After a pleasant afternoon communing with the ancestors who hopefully enjoyed the sakura mochi offered at the family butsudan, comes back into the Shinto shrine to find wdrazo in a deep trance muttering "namu amida butsu, namu amida butsu" over last Sunday's sports page. Hm. Puts on the miko costume, brews some bancha (the ume shouchu will be imbibed later), lights the incense, taps the chime once.... twice... ]]
>>>is it VAMPIRE HUNTER D: BLOODLUST ?
Yes and No means all It is half full, half empty Alas, here, empty
>>>is the main character easily distracted by tables heaped with food?
There is food, and there is heaped with food. One is no, one needs clarity.

And the oracle says:
No
(Sorry, too early on a Monday morning to even think about counting obscure poetic syllables) (but I can tell from your questions that you guys do know your anime -- food, schoolgirls, firebreathing giant mecha samurai) :-)
c'mon keep asking questions! |

>>>Is there more than a 3:1 ratio of female to male protagonists in this anime?
The Magic 8 Ball says: Very Doubtful
>>>And if so, do they all live in the same domicile? :)
The Magic 8 Ball says: Cannot Predict Now
(which makes sense following the first question)
(you guys do NOT want to know how many times I had to shake that ball to get the correct answer. I think my Magic 8 Ball is negatively charged)
>>>The ancestors will hopefully forgive my plodding methodology...
The ancestors like tea. Quality tea. Brew some tea, put it in a nice cup, put the cup on the mantle (or something hearth-like), clap your hands together in front of it, think reverent thoughts, and you'll probably be forgiven. But they might want some manju next, now that you have their attention.
>>>Made after 1995?
Yes.
>>>is the setting in the present time?
...er... more or less... yes...
>>>there is a question >>>of one volume, or many. >>>is this a series?
series it is, yet your question inspires a point of more questioning |
