My interest is mostly DV, since film costs too much $$$.
Here are some links I've found in my travels that might be interesting to a DIY, aspiring director/DP/writer/whatever
A Glossary of Film Terms - Alphabetical and Subject Index http://homepage.newschool.edu/~schlemoj/film_courses/glossary_of_film_terms/glossary_index.html
Great email list and lots of info on the site for cinematographers http://www.cinematography.net/
Companies that sell sfx (never used them, don't know nuttin 'bout em) http://www.fxsupply.com/ http://www.firefox-fx.com/specialfx.htm
Incentives (money, etc) to film in varioius states http://www.jl-site.com/NASDA/Incentives2002.html#California
Film, TV & Video Tips, How-Tos lotsa links some good, some bad, some ugly. http://www.knowledgehound.com/topics/film.htm http://www.camas.wednet.edu/chs/netlinks/tech/video.html
scriptwriting secrets (looks good, I've read parts of it) http://scriptwritingsecrets.com/contents.htm
Indiewire, just found this, http://www.indiewire.com/index.html
Local to San Francisco
BAVC - http://bavc.org/ I'm a member, don't know much more than that.
SF Public Access TV - http://www.sfctc.org/index.htm For video the classes, equipment, studio, and experience this place offers is great. They will put your show on the air, well they did mine at least. If anyone watches it is another thing all together. :)
Finally, this guy inspires me to git off my butt and do something. http://www.trygve.com/index.html
There is so much out there, esp for Video/DV. Goto Google and have a gander. If anyone has a resource to share or question drop me a PM.
