Following a thread Off-Topic board, I thought I will email this and see if someone knows this movie (by Miramax?) about a town that is being flooded due to a dam being built, seemed like a pretty recent movie (last 5 years). I saw the trailer on one of the DVDs and forgot the name?
Thanks Amit |

Hey, let's co-opt this thread and make it a place where people can ask the question in the subject header, about any film they can't remember the name of, or need help locating... I realize there have been other threads along the same lines, but each about one film. How about just one thread for now?
Post your queries here!

I saw a trailer on the Scarlet Diva DVD for a thriller that had the title in english all mixed up in the wrong order. It looked like a european film, It may have been called something like "A Park in the Neighborhood" but I can't be sure.
After further review, it may have been Don't Go in the House, but I can't be sure, and I'm pretty sure that's not it. Could someone who maybe owns Scarlett Diva tell me if that's the movie? (If you own scarlett diva and are ashamed, as you probably should be, you can just PM me.) |

Yes, that's the one. Thanks, Thanks!
Underdog, it's a good idea to use this as a general thread for movies one is looking for.

| For the life of me can't remember what the name of this movie is. Made in the late 70's I believe, basically a teen angst/rebellion movie, set in a desert type suburbia, where one of the kids throws a large stone off a freeway overpass down onto oncoming traffic, then goes home and escapes by putting on his large headphones to listen to some hard rock. At the end of the movie the rec center gets burned down. Someone please help! Not sure if it was indie or cult, but there is no "high-rider" category to choose from. :-) |

Okay, I've got a weird one for you: I remember this bit of a scene from when I was a little kid, of women (blondes?) fainting and falling into giant wicker baskets. Something to do with "white slavery," but it was sort of comedic/Disney in overall tone. |

Oh Oh Oh I know this one: "Thoroughly Modern Millie" with Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore. Mary get kidnapped and Julie helps save her. Looks like GC does not have it but it is on DVD.

One of the running gags is that rich people don't carry cash (they write checks to pay for everything). |

ok. I remember I cared about knowing a long time ago, I don't really now, but it'd be nice to know. I saw this movie when I was a kid, about some serial killer who chopped off the hands of people and sewed them onto his kid's hands, and his kid wrote stuff on the walls. has anyone seen this movie, is it even a movie?
I've asked everyone about it... |

This one is Over the Edge, starring (sorta) Matt Dillon. They used to show it on HBO all the time.

Thanks! I've added it to my NF list.
Next one: I'm not sure if it's a movie or a Twilight Zone or Perry Mason episode, but I remember a black and white night scene where someone is racing through the dark in a car, and someone else has rigged headlights to suddenly turn on when they get close, and the other driver is fooled into thinking it's an oncoming car and has a fatal wreck. |

This souds like one of the old Bela Lugosi movies. Possibly with Tor Johnson as the 'giant' assistant. Thy all look pretty similar. Possibilities include: 'The Corpse Vanishes' or 'The Unearthly'. But this idea was even used in 'Goldfinger' so it is probably in several movies/TV shows.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the DVD is supposed to finally come out sometime this year, in 16:9.
