Does anyone know if there's more than one (new) BG season one set? GC has a 5-disc set, while a certain competitor has a 4-disc set. Both claim to be 2003/2004; I wonder if one is USA release, and one is international?

I think Disc #5 is the initial 2 part mini series. Some competitors, like NF are notorious for partial listings.

PS season 2 releases 12/20/05.

Yeah, it's a five-disc set, and the fifth disc is a bonus disc. We try to make bonus discs available here... unlike *some* companies. [g]

So, just how good is this show?

I avoided the original series like the plague.

It's much better than the original, for what that's worth...

Less cheesy, more intelligent (imho)...

Although I confess to having gotten a little bored with it at some point in Season 1 and stopped watching. Definitely worth a try though.

There actually were two releases. Best Buy had an exclusive set that released early but contained only the TV series. Then the full set released that contained the miniseries and extras as well -- that's what we've got.

Yeah, Craig, I meant to ask where you got the last two discs for the 8-disc Freaks and Geeks collection, too. I bought the only set I could find, but it was only 6 discs.

Okay, this makes sense, thanks.

All I gotta say...I realized today that Season 2 is over. The last episode I saw, that actually got me interested in BG again, was the end of Season 2. And now I have to wait until JANUARY for the continuation.

I was the same age as the youngest character when the show first aired, and I used to want to be him, so it's all retro/mental "home food" for me. :)

Well, I would feel sorry for you but I dont have cable so I cant watch season 2 at all. I had a co-worker who was recording the episodes for me but he quit. I guess I will just have to wait for season 2 to be on DVD. Is Season 3 going to start in January?

I was a kid when the original series came out and it was my favorite TV show. I guess kids have a high tolerence for cheezy sci-fi. But now, when I watch the original episodes, I remember that feeling of excitement I used to get when it would come on when I was a kid and I guess I like remembering that. I guess it's all "home food" to me too.

LOL! Feel sorry for me anyway, it ended on the HUGEST cliffhanger.

Yes, Sci-Fi says, "New episodes in January." Oookay. >:|

There was a special limited edition of the Freaks and Geeks set that included those two extra discs. We pounced on it, even though it was pretty expensive, because we knew it'd be worth it. There was also a very cool faux yearbook that came with it, full of pictures from the set and some funny pieces "in character." (I took custody of the yearbook.) Then I bought myself the regular 6 disc set because that was about as much as I could spend. And now that's the only one you can get. Still, there's more than enough commentary and extras on the 6 disc to satisfy most fans; the bonus discs should definitely be rented though! (Disc 2.)

I saw some of the original series when I was younger, but I was waaaay too much in to "Buck Rogers" (Yeah, I admit it.)

Bidibidibidi....uh Buck, Twinkie's having a hard time walking, can you roll him along>?

Speaking of which, wasn't that Cogsworth's voice from the Jetson's?

Close. The original voice of Twiki was by the guy who did Cosmo Spacely :)

Right on Arti!

How about "Twiki's" girlfriend, do you remember her name?

Or the the doctor that "Twiki" wears around his neck?

No, I'd have to look it up. I was a kid; girls were useless :)

> Or the the doctor that "Twiki" wears around his neck?

Of course: Dr. Theopolis. Computers have always been useful, and a talking computer as a friend would have been awesome :)
