I'm sorry, I love Greencine, you are hip young and cool.
But if you don't stock more than seaon 1 of League of Gentelmen, I'm going back to NF.

Maybe you could shift some of your porn budget back to
what you started out doing: OFFERING GOOD FUCKING RENTALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love you ;)

Charmed, I'm sure... But why begin a new thread when you already started one on the same subject?

I was wondering that myself.

I have to wonder how GC will be able to offer good fucking rentals if they lower the porn budget, though. (Of course, what constitutes good vs. bad fucking rentals is highly subjective.)

On a serious note, though: We've discussed this before, but economies of scale make it seem that successful non-walmarts (i.e. non Netflix) on the internet is impractical and porn may very well be the one thing that keeps GreenCine viable.

BTW, league of Gentlemen is on my NF list but I haven't gotten to it yet.

I started a new thread to be an asshole.

So what you are saying is... I can't rent seasons 2 and 3
of League of Gentlemen because you need to provide
"18 and Hairy 2" and "chubby mouthfuls"?

uhhh... I like porn as much you guys, but this is not what I was expecting from Greencine.

If you are having $ problems, raise your rental rates.

Yeah, Eoliano. Your rental rates are way too low!

Sigh. No-one complains my rates are too low. Heck, I can't even give myself away these days.

'course if Eo can cook as well as he claims... that may explain things.

A legitimate complaint, I think though, would be why don't the extra seasons show up in the GC catalog so we have an option to request them. The one time a GC staff (underdog) piped in, he pointed to season 1. I got the impression GC wasn't aware of the other three DVDs (you can't expect anyone to have the catalog memorized) existing. I doubt any one made a conscious effort to decide *not* to buy the remaining three discs. I doubt it has anything to do with the porn budget.

Says you! It's all in the turn-around...

I never make such claims about my cooking, that's better left to my former clientele and food pundits.

My guess would be that the title just isn't a big draw.
Not sure how that would be calculated exactly.

I spent some time a few months back crying about the lack of South Park discs, and season 5 still has request tags. Season 6 in nowhere to be found and season 7, soon to be released, ummm I'm not holding my breath.

There are so many of these series being released that I'm sure it's prohibitive to get things that aren't much in demand.

well, I assumed that they'd calculate based on number of requests, sale statistics among demographics, and reading the entrails of pigeons.

I figure there's no point in my complaining that "for godness sake if they want to make me happy they damned well better carry The happy little woozy and his patchwork gal pal's merry adventures and of course people are going to rent it, and hell, even if no-body rents it but me and I don't get to renting for a year or two they better order it anyway 'cause I'm a loyal GC costumer of 3 1/2 weeks and deserve to have my demands met" because I figure they probably know more about calculating the draw of titles than I do.

*However*, usually if GC doesn't own a title in their master database, they still have a page for it and if the title is in print, they have a request option. A while back Underdog shared with us a few secrets of the master database and where it came from. Now there are 4 disks in "League of Gentlemen" but only one disk is in the master catalog. I do not know why that is. I do not know the secrets of the master catalog. Maybe there is a very good reason three of the disks are not in the master catalog. Maybe there isn't. It might be a mistake. If its a mistake, then maybe if the master catalog were fixed then we'd be able to request these three disks.

Hence, a legitimate complaint *might* (or might not) be to point out that only one of the four disks is in the catalog.

(Note, I'm not saying anything about whether havin all four in the master catalog would mean they have draw. Just that maybe they aren't available for request via a technical oversight.)

Now, stepping back a bit, I address the issue of GC not having all the titles of Netflix with my shrugged comment "economies of scale". I.E. some titles just won't have the draw. I don't know which titles won't have the draw but I don't see why we should be surprised (disappointed, yes, but surprised, no) that The happy little woozy and his patchwork gal pal's merry adventures and "the League of gentlemen" don't have the draw.

Now as to the suggestion that GC should cut back on porn budget to expand on their availability. Well, I must admit I'd much rather they invested in The happy little woozy and his patchwork gal pal's merry adventures than "Nutty Mouthwash fun" but I imagine there are probably many oral hygene fans who'd disagree. Further more, even if The happy little woozy and his patchwork gal pal's merry adventures may be much more popular than "Nutty Mouthwash fun", "Nutty Mouthwash fun" due to its limitted availabily (NF doesn't carry it) and specialty audience will probably do a lot more to float GC. That's economy of scale.

Yes, "chubby mouthful" is a better investment choice for GC than "League of Gentlemen" because 1) League of Gentlemen is available at NF, Chubby Mouthful isn't 2) League of gentleman will only capture a small percentage of the smart tv program niche which will be satisfied with the thousands of other titles, whereas Chubby Mouthful will capture a large percentage of the ... other crowd ... who'd have to make do with only hundreds of titles. Economy of scale.

> There are so many of these series being released that I'm sure it's prohibitive to get things that aren't much in demand.
> ---------------------------------

Right, by comparison there are fewer specialized porn titles and few venues for specialized porn afficiendos to go, that even if a series title is much more popular than a specialized porn title, economics make purchasing the specialized porn title a better investment.

I'm kinda holding my breath for Southpark seasons 6 and 7. Though I'd prefer they repair what series they have if there are enough people with many seasons of it in queue being held up by one red-status disc. *cough*stargate

I'm angry about lots of other things in my life.
I'm sorry I took in out on GC. [honestly]
I've been on BSSs and the Internet for 20 years now
and I've never been able to control my flame-temper.

League of Gentlemen is stupid anyhow.
I checked out "Hairy and 18 2" and it was pretty good.

Can you get the 3rd disk :)
