shiftless	post #1  on November 5, 2008 - 12:51 AM PST   I watched the whole Negativland DVD "Our Favorite Things" without a hitch but any attempt to access videos on the extras menu resulted in the DVD simply stopping. I could get to a one submenu from the extras but otherwise no dice. DVD seems in good shape so I'm wondering if it was a "prank" or if anyone else had a similar experience.

underdog	post #3  on November 5, 2008 - 4:14 PM PST   Can't find any mention of this in reviews of the DVD online, and at least two of the ones I found mention the extras so I'm wondering if that specific DVD is indeed defective. Even if it doesn't appear to be sometimes there are defects built into the DVD itself. (Though it does sound like the kind of prank they'd do.) Anyway, if you can't get it to play when you send it back put a note on it for us to check. As Weezy said we can also check other copies. If it's just that disc you could try again with a different one... Sorry bout that!
shiftless	post #4  on November 5, 2008 - 5:28 PM PST   Well I probably won't put it in my queue again, but I wouldn't mind finding out if you find any other copies with the same problem. I did check off the "won't play" checkbox on the envelope and wrote "xtras menu- nada plays" underneath. Maybe my DVD players age is starting to show?
