| The Walking Dead is great. The zombie effects are really quite good. The big problem is that season one doesn't have that many episodes and it really leaves you wanting season two. |

Haven't seen any TV, though I am eagerly awaiting the 4th season of Breaking Bad.
The movies I've seen recently that were good are all pretty obvious. Loved The Kids Are Alright, Animal Kingdom and Micmacs.
Also fun were the hilarious Unconscious, Innocence, and I can't say enough good things about Black Dynamite. That flick had me on the floor and simply amazing for its attention to detail in terms of continuity errors and use of misplaced reaction shots, and all the things that made blaxploitation films fun/painful to watch. |

"Innocence" is an amazing movie. I've had "Unconscious" floating in my queue for quite a while. I'll see it one of these days.
Thanks for the recommendation on "Black Dynamite," I'll check it out.

I love Innocence, but I still kind of wish they had kept the whole movie within the confines of the school, instead of following the girl out.
Some of the younger girls attempts at freedom made me think of The Gashlycrumb Tinies.

| I'm finally watching Mosquito Coast tonight, which unbelievably (since I love his films) is the one Peter Weir I've never seen. Also watched Enchanted April which I'd also never seen before, came out on DVD for first time recently. Really lovely film and cast. Oh and watched Despicable Me, which I enjoyed. Not sure why the NPR critic had it on his top 10 list (he needs to see more films) but it's cute and well done. |

| Is anyone watching AMC's The Killing, btw? The first ep was great. Haven't watched the 2nd yet. |

I remember liking "Enchanted April" a lot back in the VHS days. Good cast!

Great cast! I liked seeing Josie Lawrence again after remembering her from the British version of Who's Line Is it Anyway. But her co-stars were really terrific.
Man, I feel sad that I finally watched Restrepo the other day (which is kind of depressing anyway) and then one of its directors just died in Libya. :-(
In happier news... I also watched The Other Guys, which is a total mess in some ways, tries to be too ambitious for a silly action comedy, and yet I kind of enjoyed it. Wahlberg and Ferrell have great chemistry. |

| I thought Angel-A was pretty good, though I had to get over a serious dislike of the main character. |
