In anticipation of GreenCine's forums opening up to the public at large and the expansion of this community into a vibrant online destination for social networking, I thought I'd start a thread worthy of those aspirations....

There's a lot of media hype over the hottest new stars and the hottest old stars, but who is really hot? Demi Moore is in some new movie and she's graced the covers of a few recent magazines, but I've NEVER found her to be sexy.

Kirsten Dunst, I think she's pretty hot, and lives up to whatever hype there is or wasn't after Marie Antoinette came out and disappeared.

Jessica Alba... a favorite in magazines like MAXIM and FMH or whatever. I've never thought she was attractive at all!

So who is REALLY really hot? For some reason every time I see Toni Collette I think she's kinda hot. I don't know why... She was frikkin MURIEL for goodness sake! And she plays mothers a lot, like in The Sixth Sense and Little Miss Sunshine. But for some reason I can't stop thinking she's really attractive, especially her funky voice/accent. I just added Peter Greenaway's Eight and a Half Women to my queue.

Also the only reason for enduring the war in Iraq and Katie Couric is the hope of catching a glimpse of CBS Chief Foreign Correspondent Lara Logan. Half the time she's interviewing some Muslim so she's wearing a head scarf, and the other times she's wearing a helmet and a flak jacket with PRESS written on it that makes her look like the Michelin Woman. My eyes are riveted to her talking head, but afterward I can't remember a word she said about Saddam's execution or whatever. I have to hear the story on NPR the next day.

Toni is nice. Someone actually said she was hot to me recently. XD

My vote goes for Michael Fassbender (one of the stars of 300 - albeit some ways from the top, but he was in the trailer!). *drools self into a coma* I am, as ever, a Johnny Depp fan. Clive Owen ain't bad. ;P Heath Ledger is actually hotter NOW than when he first popped into movies like '10 Things I Hate About You' and 'Knight's Tale.' Adrian Brody is hot. :D I'm also fond of Jay Hernandez (who was finally acknowledged, somewhere, for his hotness).

But, atm, I'm pretty wild for Fassbender. Gawd, he's buffed up so much for 300. His face was what had me...but omg, that body! *faints*

...I need a poster of him. *looks at the ceiling* I know the perfect spot!

Jemima Rooper (starred in Hex with Fassbender). I've never been a big fan of Kirstin Dunst. I've always gone for the other blonde chick - Julia Stiles. Then there's Michelle Rodriguez (whose career seems to be going down the crapper).

There are a lot of women I think are gorgeous, but their names/movies don't come to mind. :(

And I still *really* dig Gina Gershon.

Mmmm... Jemima Rooper and Gina Gershon... I think you like that big mouth with the full sensuous lips thing going on maybe?

That picture of Jemima Rooper at the IMDB looks like Hilary Swank... doesn't Jemima look a bit more Goth usually?

underdog might remember that I'm also a big fan of Ida Lupino... I think there's something about Toni Collette that reminds me of Lupino. The big forehead and the eyes set wide apart maybe. They're both a bit alien looking....

Absolutely no-body on earth (except Geena Davis) is hot any more. However in their day, Susana York and Lynne Redgrave always did it for me.

Actually I'm watching "The Mists of Avalon" right now (a reaffirming anecdote to the soul-destroying awfulness of "Earthsea" which I watched last night-- *shiver*) and that Julianna Margulies sure has something I'd never noticed before. Whoo! (also a refreshing anecdote to the mind-numbingly banal and bland flawless beauty of Kristen Kruek horrifyingly miscast in "Earthsea" *double shiver*)

Duh, the same goes for everybody on your list... in terms of appearance alone, the truth is always somewhere in the middle. You gotta take all the BEST photos and the WORST photos out of the equation before you judge someone on appearance. In terms of Kirsten Dunst I look at the roles I've seen her in, the non-movie appearances she's made (talk shows and stuff) in ADDITION to the photos, before I pronouce her to be "hot"... Kiki has a natural, bubbly, unpretentious air about her that completely wins me over.

I think what I'm going for with this thread is the "chemistry" between a celebrity and the viewer, not some kind of objective appraisal of photographic images.

I'm adding sisters Meg and Jennifer Tilly to my HOT list. Meg is just naturally gorgeous and it's too bad she doesn't act any more. Jennifer is a freaky genius. I've seen her in many talk shows beginning with Arsenio Hall and Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect and she NEVER made a false move. She was always outwardly ditsy and sneakily smart and always hilarious...

> Rachael Leigh Cook

I thought she was totally hot when she was a no-name starlet famous for doing the "this is your brain on drugs" PSA. Since then she's been kind of a bone-head actress. She totally disappointed me in Josie and the Pussycats....

> Jewel Staite <--- serenity/firefly

Oh, man, she doesn't do anything for me... My order of hotness from the Firefly cast would be Morena Baccarin and Gina Torres at the top, with Summer Glau and Jewel Staite at the bottom. Well, I'm not counting any of the guys...

Two Words: Aishwarya Rai

I was hooked by her eyes, and after that, I became completely lost; smitten, hoping never to be found (unless she happens to be leading the S.A.R. Team ; )

While not completely converted to Bollywood, I find myself ensnared with this honeyed Bear-trap from India.

I am no longer: Ursus Arctos Horribles.

I am: Ursus "Aishwarya Rai" Smittenus

Kajra Re

Dola Re

Barso Re

Personally, I prefer Rani Mukerji, Sushmita Sen and Hrishitaa Bhatt. Aish is beautiful, for sure, but if I look at her for too long I start thinking about bushbabies.

I still find Laura Linney very hot - also because she has this fiery intelligence underneath the surface, too. Seeing her in The Savages (coming out this year) at Sundance didn't hurt, either.

I still have a thing for Kate Winslet - something about those buxom, British women with rosy cheeks and a glow about 'em...

What guys do straight guys have man-crushes on? I used to think that Matthew Fox (Lost) guy was pretty good looking until I got tired of his sullen-ness all the time.

Yep, don't get too attached to these boards - I know how much you guys love this interface but we're gonna chuck it soon. ;-)

That woman who plays Pam in the American OFFICE is quite cute, too - I used to think she was my own little secret until she made one of those magazines' "Hot" lists recently. I think she's cuter than "hot" but I definitely crush on her. Hope my g/f isn't reading these boards.

That Maggie Gyllenhaal is also kinda cute, isn't she? You can have a man-crush on her brother if you want.

> to think that Matthew Fox (Lost) guy was pretty good looking until I got tired of his sullen-ness all the time.

You know, this reminds me of that game that the two cops were playing in The Wire... Laura Linney will be your sex slave, but first you have to do Matthew Fox? Did I get that right?

Shahrukh KHAN (he's Muslim, not Jewish) is in Devdas, which has the Dola Re Dola song. He's not in the one with Kajra Re (Bunty Aur Babli, with Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan), nor is he in GURU, which stars Abhishek as Ash's love interest. By the way, Abhishek and Ash are going to get married soon.

> Hope my g/f isn't reading these boards.

I'm IMing her right now, with the Laura Linney/Matthew Fox thing...

Mm...I do, now that I think about it. XD

But Gina Gershon occupies a special place in the dark corners of my mind. She's just so...dominating. Ha!

Nah. She was in SinChronicity recently...no gothiness.

Speaking of Kate Winslet, who is hot but not on my top 10, Eve Myles and Billie Piper. XD Doctor Who and Torchwood stars. I like Myles more, though. Not really traditionally hot...but I dig her, none the less.

And outside of Doctor Who, I'm not sure Piper can act. <_<

...And yes, the Tilly girls are great. Seems like Jennifer Tilly is or was in my profile for favorite movie talents. XD

It's kind of amazing. Especially when you consider he also has an American Career that involved the lead character in "Everyone Loves Raymond"

Okay, Kajol Mukherjee also does it for me.

And uh...after that...well, let's just say it's an exponential function or something.

Big round faces, that seems to be the thing for me.

I was hot yesterday. It was 70+ Fahrenheit outside, and since I had the air conditioner off, it got to be 88+ in my computer room. It's 80 right now, with a box fan going, at 3:26 AM.
