| That was one great interview with the amazing Christopher Doyle, who I've long admired but never known anything about. One question: in the course of the interview, Mr. Axmaker mentions having interviewed the (also amazing) Maggie Cheung. However, I didn't see the interview in a Greencine search. Is it coming up, is it a mistake in the search engine, did it get scrapped? |

It is, isn't it? I've seen interviews with Doyle that go no further than, "Another beer over here!", but Sean has a way of finding the wavelength of his interviewee and tuning into it; and of course, it helps that he's got an encyclopedic knowledge of film in general and Asian film in particular. As for when he interviewed Maggie Cheung, I'll ask; it wasn't for us, sorry to say, but evidently for one of the countless other publications around the world he writes for as well.
If you're simply wondering how she's doing, though, this piece that appeared in the New York Times Magazine in mid-November is pretty informative. |
