So I just found out that a movie I was in as an extra (a year ago, wow, how time does fly) will premiere on May 1st the SF International Film Festival. I actually already saw the film at a cast/crew screening at the Victoria Theater, but somehow it seemed like the Victoria wasn't equipped to deal with showing a film, mostly in the sound department, so I'm excited to see it.

SF International Film Fest site

The movie is All About Evil, directed by Joshua Grannell aka. Peaches Christ.

Unfortunately tickets are only available to San Francisco Film Society members right now, they go on sale for us regular folks on April 1st. I really want to go, hope I get tickets. Peaches will be doing a Midnight Mass style pre-show before the film screening with members of the cast like Mink Stole.

Is anyone else looking forward to other films in the festival? Any buzz you've heard that might be good?

That's really awesome Shiftless! Especially since my stepbrother was one of the camera people on that film! I remember him showing us some of the dailies and pictures from the film, and it looked like great fun. Look forward to seeing it, too.

Some other good stuff at the SFIFF this year, still trying to sort it out. One thing I want to make is the salute to Roger Ebert, which should be touching, and also the Golden Gate Persistence of Vision Award for animator Don Hertzfeldt ("Lily & Jim" et al) 4/23! But as far as other films, haven't figured that out yet.

Anyone going to the SF Int'l Asian Am Film Fest this weekend/next week? I'm going to a few Sunday and Monday. Great festival in its own right.

Opening film tonight (April 22) is:

Opening Night film, MICMACS (2009) @ 7:00pm. Director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet is scheduled to be on hand. Won't want to miss this chance to hear from the inventive mind that brought us The City Of Lost Children, Amélie & Delicatessen.

Trailer here

Looks really fun!

Holy crap, that would be cool!

Why are these things always on weeknights?
