I started a list of adult live action 'anime' movies.
:Live Action Adult Anime

These are not all movies that were once anime. Some just have that 'anime look' in my opinion.

So far, I have:

La Blue Girl
Angel Of Darkness
Fist Of The North Star
Zero Woman
Bride With White Hair

I could include Black Scorpion but then would I not have to include Batman etc.

So what titles do you think I should add/delete on my list?

Great Teacher Onizuka was done as a live action drama by NHK. They also made a GTO live action movie.

Zeram
Zeiram 2

For some odd reason they are spelled differently. But now that the search engine is working better, they both pull up when you run a search on Zeram.

Based on Iria: Zeiram the Animation.

Others that aren't available on DVD yet:
Sailor Moon
Boogiepop and Others
GTO
mentioned earlier

Others to look out for:
Devil Man
Cutey Honey
Casshern
Neon Genesis Evangeleon

Those last four are either in pre-production, production, or post-production right now. And they all look amazing so far.

OH!!! I almost forgot! Wicked City is available! That's one of the better live actioners currently available.

And as far as Live Action Mecha goes, theres always Robot Jox and Robot Wars. They're not based on anime really, but until NGE comes out, it's all we've got!

Robot Jox

Robot Wars isn't available on DVD yet. Or else I just can't remember the right name.

Yeah, yeah. But I prefer to think of it the other way around because the movies are crap and the anime is really good. And everybody knows nothing good ever came from crap. Except Star Wars, which came from George Lucas.

Hah! Another pointless jab at a multi-millionaire! And I'm not even a Star Wars Fan! What a lark!

Zeram

Are both of these live? I cannot tell from looking at the cover scans. Zeram is listed as Anime and Robot Kox shows no cast.

Yep. They're both live action. I guarantee it! I've seen them both. Watch out for Robot Jox though. It's been a while since I've seen it, and I'm sure it was terrible, but I was a different man in those days.

But its rated PG apparently, so I don't know if you want to waste your time with it. After all, this is supposed to be Adult stuff, right? ...or am I just saying that to sway you in a certain direction... bwah ha ha ha ha!

Okay, this may sound crazy, but a week ago I saw Cop Shop Babes (too lazy to link right now) and despite it's suggestive title, it was one of the most innocently cute and fun Honk Kong Action Comedies I've seen in a while!

The reason I'm mentioning it here is because from the very beginning it comes off feeling like a shoujo anime! Ya gotta see it to believe it!

I was checking out a forum that Catullus recommended me to and read a discussion of an upcoming Battle Angel movie being developed by James Cameron.

Here are a couple of link:

Having been turned by Hammy into a Fan Sub Machine, I have just started to watch live action Gokusen (1st season).

It is really good; awesome in fact.

The actresses who play Yankumi, and the "sex-pot" leggy teacher... HOT HOT HOT! SHuh-WING!!! It is times like these that I wish I had studied Japanese instead of Italian and Latin.

Thanks for the recommendation Hamano.

Hey, I recommended it for the heartwarming drama and wholesome humor, not so you could get off on the actresses! The skinny one that plays Yankumi is Yukie Nakama and the hot tall one is model turned actress Misaki Itoh. Yukie Nakama has the distinction of being a master of Ryukyu Style Traditional Japanese Dance, and has a license to operate a 2nd class motorized boat as well as a SCUBA license. She's from Okinawa. Misaki Itoh has the distinction of being taller than most other actresses and of being really really hot.

Here's Nakama doing a Pocky commercial.

Oh, the second season unfortunately is really boring. It's basically a retread of the situations in the first season, but with a supporting cast who can't act. To make up for that they turned up the action a notch, but it's still basically just a knock-off of the first season.

Instead try Lunch Queen, with Misaki Itoh doing another cute supporting role as Tomato-chan, the spunky girl from the vegetable stall. Yuko Takeuchi, who plays the lead female character in Lunch Queen, is almost as skinny as Yukie Nakama but has a really endearing dimply smile, sort of like Audrey Tautou.

And as long as Ursus has dug up this old thread, let me note that I've been watching a "live action anime" show called Sh15uya, which is read "Shibuya 15"... The actress who plays Asagi, the leader of a girl gang called Lovegen, is really cute I think. The story is kinda dumb and incoherent, but you get to see a lot of real images of Shibuya like the HMV store that pops up in Super GALS. They haven't shown the Hachiko statue yet, though. There's a bunch of videos here if you want to see what the show is like. The show has a pretty good score. The acting is pretty bad but apparently most of these actresses have a good track record on recent J-horror movies and such. I like the ED song.

F MENSA!!! I'm Beginning to think Hammy's in the Central Intelligence Agency!!! You've got the "goods" on everyone!

(This fact would bring their [CIA] total collective intelligence to just one... Hammy. You do "live" outside the Beltway, if that is indeed your "current location," Special Agent Hamano ^_^)
