The trailer looks fantastic! Thanks for the pointer, Jross3.
However, "Ghost in the Shell 2" is just not the same without Major Kusanagi. I hope she can make an appearance in the movie. I mean, who's naked "shell" would you like to stare at: Batou or Matoko?
DBoo, have you watched the TV series "Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex"?

I have not seen it all but I have seen seasons one and two for sure. It's available for buying now I suppose. But I got it the old fashion way. By means of a "cyber" five-finger discount. Hehe. ^_^

GIS is the film that inspired me to get out of the otaku closet. I had seen other anime, of course, but mostly in the periphery. Ghost is the movie I actually went out of my way to see in the theater, twice, and then go to Jtown and get the soundtrack. I hadn't done that before.
Now I am awaiting number 2 with the kind of urgency a 17 year old boy has when he is on that date, things are going well, and some voice in the back of the brain says, "things are about to get oh so much better if you play your cards right." Its that moment when destiny becomes manifest and that kid wants more than anything in the world for that moment to happen.
Sorta like that. |

Nothing so dramatic for me. But "Ghost in the Shell" was the first DVD I've ever bought back in 1996 - when I don't even have a DVD player in the house. I then spend another $200 for a DVD-ROM drive so that I can finally watch this movie on my computer.

I am somehow...oddly...getting turned on by all this. Is this a geek phenomenon? If so, cool. If not, should I seek help? And if so, where shall I get it?
*NOTE: I taught my students the lyrics to "Kung Fu Fighting" this morning. It was a lesson in present progressive. |

ROFL Ah. I missed this. All is well JellyB you require no professional help. Quickly off off topic: you're a sensei?! See what happens when I vanish! What do u teach and can I request private tutoring? A house call? No? I can't stop myself. Gomen.
And yes Sinny, Ms. Faye has taught me everything from pistol whipping to the art of well displayed/timed fan serive (yes, there are such things). And NLee's lecherous ways have rubbed off on me as well. No not literally. ^_^

I caught part of a Cowboy Bepop epsiode on Cartoon Network last night (or rather 1:15AM this morning). I have no idea where this episode belongs in the series. It is about Ed meeting with her father, and Faye Valentine visiting the place wher she grew up. Anyway, that place turned out to be a famous tourist spot in Singapore - complete with the Lion-Headed Fish statue. So do you know what that means? Faye Valentine is a Singaporean! Isn't that exciting?
What? Nobody else cares? Oh well.

A. Its the end of the minor character arc B. Its the start of the conclusion of the "Spike Saga", as it is referred to. C. Its a sign that watching anime the American way (any ol' order, its not like a soap opera, innit?) just makes you all confused, anime sucks, the Japanese tell crazy stories only the French would understand, yada yada. D. Unlike Eva, Bebop is not better high. |
