ABC news reported the discovery of bipedal octopi! The run along the sea floor on two tentacles like a Martian from some old sci-fi flick! Watch ABC News with Peter Jennings tonight to see video of this amazing cephalopod! Or read this article!

OK, if that wasn't sufficiently amusing, go HERE for movies re-enacted by bunnies in 30 seconds... This was posted before, some time ago, but there are some new ones...

But hamarin! We all know that octopii have arms and not legs!

Are they anthropomorphizing animals again?

This is prophetic. I saw an evolution special on the Discovery channel last summer, and in 100 billion years (I think it was), squids will rule the earth. They showed the fancy monkey squids throwing fruit at the big elephant squid that kidnapped one of the little squidlings. It was quite a sight.

Here is the octopus story (with pictures) at nature.com. This was posted on boingboing.net today, which also has a posting of a VERY poorly designed pediatrics logo.

Hey thanks fdgie! I've been searching everywhere for this video footage...

Now this is a sterling example of how these boards can be useful and enlightening and educational for all GC members!

I've downloaded the quicktime files from the nature.com site... they're really cute if you loop them and play them full-screen!

GreenCine films with the word Octopus in the title.

Oh, and this was one of my favorites when I was a kid...

I think this one had a hilarious scene with a fake octopus.

According to NLee, there's an octopus in this one.

It's somewhat comforting that there are a few more titles at GreenCine with the word chocolate in the title... but some of them look like they have nothing to do with cacao...

That's pretty cute for H. pylori. Still, I was glad to get rid of them in my system. :)

I prefer the yeast. It's cute, and it farts tasty gasses. Get to know you local yeasts, folks!
