Finally, a new yaoi title (yeah, so I used yaoi in the somewhat literal sense, rather than as a grouping of all m/m animes). Haru wo Daite Ita (Embracing Love) is the title. I have the first episode (believe there is two, but I don't think the second one is even out in Japan yet).

First off, I like it. ^_^ It's a recent yaoi creation, so the art doesn't look dated (it's quite pretty actually) and the animation seems standard. The men are both men. You heard it...there is not a man/boy relationship here (ala Gravitation). There is quite a bit of sex, but it stays true to yaoi tradition (no real nudity). There's nothing kinky and it's all consensual (kind of, which I'll explain). And it's definitely angsty. While I can't say whether that's good or bad, I was just largely happy to have a pretty yaoi title.

Iwaki-san and Katou are movie stars who came up from AV (Adult Video). They have a bit of competition going for this latest project, which I think is a series. Both auditioned for the movie, and Iwaki got it. The rivalry is a bit more heated because Katou called Iwaki old, and his career pathetic. Iwaki gets drunk and ends up suggesting they have a rehearsal (sex). Katou lectures him, then ends up taking charge. And so begins their relationship.

Iwaki is quite confused. He doesn't want to acknowledge Katou as a lover, or even acknowledge that that Katou considers him as a lover. Katou pretty much knows what he wants, even if he's not sure it'll last. He tries every which way to convince Iwaka of that. Katou is older, yet seems younger. There really isn't a traditional seme/uke relationship here, though if pushed, I'd saw Iwaka was the uke since he's aggressive about pursuing Katou. The sex was consensual, but the "kind of" sprang from Katou attempting to push Iwaka away but insisting they weren't lovers. Nor did he display any form of considertion (much less affection) until the end.

I was a little confused by the beginning (this series is based off a manga, so that may be why), but I understood the relationship well enough. It was good stuff. ^_^ Certainly better than Level C and My Sexual Harassment. :P I like the art the most so far, but the fact that it's not man/boy and that it isn't uke/seme is also a plus. The relationship part of it seems to have just come together, so I can't say whether or not it's a title I'll be jumping up and down for when it's all over. :) But, so far, so good.

In defense of Gravitation, which happens to be one of my favorite manga, both of the main characters are technically "men"! Shuichi (the little pink-haired one in the anime) is 18 at the beginning of the story and Yuki (the HOT one) is 23. The manga begins a few months before Shuichi and Hiro's highschool graduation, but nothing "happens" until after they've graduated.

If you want to see REAL man/boy perversion, watch Loveless! That's a 14 yr old and I belive a 19 yr old. It's so, so wrong. Nothing happens in this one but a little kissing though (it's actually shounen-ai, like Gravi is, rather than yaoi).

I thought the true tradition of yaoi WAS nudity and non-consensual sex! LOL. There is much more yaoi manga than anime. Rape is a very common theme.

No, no...I liked Gravitation. I thought it was hilarious. But it wasn't something I could watch for um...prurient reasons. *snicker*

You know what I mean! LoL! It's not the same kind of nudity as hentai. ^_^ And nothing kinky and consensual sex didn't fall under traditional, just enjoyable, lol.

Ah...where's episode two!?
