Eh. I couldn't get into it after the third or fourth ep, but some people really liked it. It's basically these half-demon girls going around protecting humans from full demons that happen to think human flesh tastes like candy (not really). So plenty of gore, transformation scenes, action, etc.
Me, I'd rather watch Berserk for the third or fourth time. Then again, maybe Claymore has a more absorbing story after you get past a certain number of episodes. I know I ended up somewhere in the middle or end to see if it got any better and couldn't really get the feel. Part of the problem is that these Claymore chicks have no "normal" feelings. Humanity sometimes shimmers through, but for the most part, they're one- or two-dimensional characters. (Again, I didn't watch the whole thing, so there's a possibility I'm wrong.) |

its a cool anime all the way up until the ending when in traditional jap ending style goes retarded and disappointing
Its definitely worth a watch though as it does have excellent action which is the one thing to really like about it.
also nothing personal but Catullus Advice > Batties Advice |

If you're not looking to be blown away or mentally stimulated by plot it's good. It definitely looks good and the action is worth watching.
I find the whole shapeshifters living in disguise amongst humans and calling becoming something demonic an "awakening" to be trite though. |

The whole thing is just a rehash of dozens of other anime before it. One anime that comes to mind: TOKKO.

My standard for anime is a bit higher: it'll be worth watching only if she shreds her cloth in the transformation process. |

I bet if you put the right ad on Craigslist you could find something like that without having to sit through 26 episodes.

If you're on Facebook I have the biggest Claymore group... it has links to anime episodes and the manga scanlations... For some reason the most active contingent of Claymore fans are from Turkey.
I think you can draw comparisons to Initial D. The artwork is just so-so but the story and pacing is pretty good. The music in the anime sucks big time, though. They probably have better music at your local Medieval Times restaurant.
I thought they did a pretty good job diverting from the manga to give the one-season anime an ending that didn't totally leave viewers hanging the way Loveless and Berserk did.
Not a super cool anime like Mushishi or Kemonozume, but it's pretty fun. I'd recommend it. There's a lot of purple blood. |

No, there are no vampires in Claymore. What Claymore (the anime) DOES have is one of the greatest casts of Japanese female seiyuu EVER! The whole demons/slayers thing is pretty standard, but it's like the best cast since Aa My Goddess and Sailor Moon, IMHO. Just look at this partial list of voice actresses!
Houko Kuwashima as Clare Aya Hisakawa as Priscilla Kikuko Inoue as Miria Romi Paku as Teresa Ai Orikasa as Galatea Ayako Kawasumi as Elena (ep. 2) Kotono Mitsuishi as Jean |

well there is the huge downside of the ****ty anime ending and the fact that to continue the story you have to read the manga.
Too much work imo and I dont like action manga, its no replacement for action anime.
Still Drawings with action dont get me excited for some reason... >_<
But claymore is fun as long as you dont care about the story and just like to see hot blonde anime chicks **** **** up. |

I'm with you on that, but it's not vampires this time. But it is equally contrived.
I just want to put this out there: if I ever consider myself "embraced" or "awakened", I want one of you to beat me in the face with a 2 by 4 with a rusty nail poking out of the beatin' side. |

Okies, past the duck sauce so I can eat my words. Any anime with these three is worth checking out as far as I am concerned. I hope they have major parts in it. Have these three actually been in the same anime together since "Voogie's Angels"??? I think two of the three have in many series and shows, but I don't recall all three off the tips of me fingers.
