Films from Asia new and old, Samurai, Ninja, horror, exploitation, nonexploitation with a cult following - discuss it all here!
Takashi Miike, fun for the whole family. I highly recommend showing his films to the more elderly and conservative members of your family, just for fun! |

Just reposting Belgand's post from another thread:
Belgand post #10 on 2007-10-04 14:06:25.893 Moving off topic a bit, but how was Sachiko? I've had it on my list for a while and then when I saw it was playing at the Red Vic last month or so I intended to go see it, but somehow forgot and never ended up making it. |

| Why are we even starting this thread? There hasn't been anything new or interesting coming out of Asia since before HERO came out. There haven't been any new genius directors and the older ones haven't done anything that's better than their old films. It's like there's a red tide over Asia choking all the life out of the sea of creativity. Maybe Asians have finally "seen it all, and done it all"... |
