I cannot understand how it is possible that GreenCine doesn't appear to know of the existance of this movie...
This is a brilliant Brittish nuclear apocalypse movie that was shot documentary style and even won a few awards. The movie was released in 1984 and was directed by Mick Jackson. IMDB gives it 8 stars out of 2,227 votes.
I saw this movie as a kid and it was so much more frightening than the American movies on the same subject matter. I somehow bumped into it at a video store 10 years or so ago and gave it an adult viewing to see if my first impression of it was correct. It was still absolutely terrifying, well acted and directed. Unfortunately, the video store's copy of this flick (VHS) got ruined and they have it no more, but I looked on line and it has been released on DVD.
If anyone from GreenCine gets around to reading this, this is a great movie and exactly the kind of thing I would expect to find you having available for rental. To everyone else, if you know this movie and have any idea of how we can get them to be aware of its existance (and possibly have it available for rental), please help.
Thanks. A Concerned Pre-Apocalyptic Citizen |

Howdy JR, We certainly do know about THREADS -- I've been wanting to see that one for years. Darnit. But alas, it's only available in the UK as a region 2 DVD, so that's why you won't currently find it here. Anyone with an all region DVD player and the desire can find that import fairly readily. But we're hoping it'll come to the US sometime soon. Thanks for asking! |

I'd like to see Threads, too.
I remember Testament being pretty moving. |

Which I also want to see and which is also OOP on DVD, sigh. We could have ourselves a nice little nuclear holocaust film festival one of these days. |
