Wow, that looks fascinating. (I found a page about it on the Web.) I'd really like us to dig it up, too. We can't rent out R2 DVDs here but if we find an all-region copy, we will. Will you give us a special prize if we track it down? ;-)

awesome - i'm glad you share my interest. i will definitely keep my eyes peeled for all-region copies.
is there a legal reason why you cannot rent out R2 DVD's, or is it just a greencine policy to avoid confused customers? i dream of finding a R2 DVD internet rental place - there are many R2 dvd's that i'd like to see but i rarely want to buy them. |

i spoke too soon - http://www.5minutesonline.com/PUNISHMENT%20PARK%20COVER.HTM
it's on backorder, but at least an all-region dvd exists of it.... or does it?
here's another site, that doesn't mention that it's all-region: http://www.doriane-films.com/english/dvd/pundvd.htm here's another listing that looks like the same disc, only it says region 2.... http://www.lfvw.com/punishment_park.html

is there a legal reason why you cannot rent out R2 DVD's Not really. There is a problem with parallel imports, of course (which explains why we do not carry any All Region titles that are available domestically, even if the running-times differ).
or is it just a greencine policy to avoid confused customers? This is part of the reason. I would guarantee that a number of folks would accidently end up with that perfect film they've tried to locate for years only to discover that their player couldn't play it. While I want to spare my friends in Customer Service this minor (probable) headache, the primary reason that we do not buy Region-2 titles is that so few of our subscribers would rent them. Our money is clearly better spent on R1 and All Region discs. Of course, if a significant number of members opt for "Universal" players, we might start adding a few titles. Eventually.
i dream of finding a R2 DVD internet rental place That dream is probably far from reality. If you live in Seattle, you could visit Scarecrow Video. They rent discs regardless of region and, as such, they have a remarkable selection (our copy of The Kingdom came from there, interestingly enough). Unfortunately, they do not rent-by-mail. Perhaps there is a similar sort of video store in your neighborhood. Similar, but probably not as good.

| Additionally, I am fairly certain that Punishment Park is only available as a Region-2 disc. Of course, if I am mistaken, you can be certain that we'll add it (and any other Watkins films that we can find). |
