I just checked my queue and Battle Royal is now marked as 'not available'. I guess the last renter broke/lost it. Battle Royal the special edition IS still available so I hope I do get to rent that version. I am a new subscriber (1 1/2 months) and I have (did have) both of them at the top of my queue. I hope the special edition disk is the same as the regular disk. So it will not matter which edition I get.
Just last week, I had 2 movies being checked in and Battle Royal was green. Yo - I should get it this time! But no, I got two other movies and Battle Royal went to someone else :( Maybe someone else had it at the top of their queue longer than me or the timing was a little off.
Oh well. Thats my rant for tonight. Just had to vent.

I feel your pain. Fong Sai Yuk became "unavailable" today... :~( I've seen the film before, but only in dubbed English (cruddy Miramax release), so I guess it's not total loss, but... still...

| Yeah, Battle Royal is pretty hard to get a hold of. You'll be waiting a while. |

| Now I feel lucky to have gotten a copy of Battle Royale pretty easily toward the beginning of my GC subscription a little over a year ago. In fact, Battle Royale was one of the reasons that I joined GC in the first place, I found GC by doing a google search for DVD rental sites that carried Battle Royale on the off chance that any actually did. |

We're getting more copies of the BR Special Edition, hopefully will be here soon enough to placate y'all. But, yeah, the original dvd edition was a very poorly made disc and had a bad habit of being broken, usually at the gentle and capable hands of our friends at the USPS. {sigh] Anyway, you should get your chance to see the Special Edition so make sure you have that high in your queue, and please be patient.
Thanks!

Yes. Me too. I was searching for several 'wierd' titles, including BR, to see if anyone had them and thats how I found GC. It is good that GC will be getting more BR special edition. I would hate to think there was only one copy at GC to hope for.

Just so ya know, even before this new order arrives, there are currently multiple copies of BR: SE here now -- but, yes, it's bloody popular, so we can hardly blame you for thinking there's one copy.
Get it? Bloody popular? You see, because it's a bloody movie and... well, like, um. Yeah.
Anyway.

Lovely segue! One of my favorite children's books, and I am ashamed to say I had no clue that Chuck Jones had produced a 'toon version of it. Yes indeed, would be nice to see that on DVD.
From Battle Royale to Chuck Jones, only here at GreenCine. |

Just another movie I saw when I was a kid in day care, in living 16MM, that I never forgot.
Speaking of movies that warped my young mind, let's segue back into the thread with a battle of epic proportions. Yes, that really is Peter Ustinov. Unfortunately, it's never even seen general release on VHS. |

It's incredibly easy to find this VCD selling for just a couple bucks.
But, it's not a movie worth crying about! |

dbooher stares at her icon then checks her profile
Hm...all seems to be in order....he can type so it's safe to assume that he can also read... Perhaps you have not seen eva? Well, I suppose the answer's pretty obvious. |

Heh. Your profile clearly states you're female, too. I remember from when I was adding you to my friends list. :)

Yeah, and the VCD looks pretty darned crappy, too if I recall correctly. Definitely not worth crying about, but worth watching if it ever comes out in a legit version...

Well as soon as you mentioned the "girls" thing I checked your profile. Not sure what this Eva thing is... more anime, would be the obvious guess. :) |
