I noticed that Takashi Miike's Gozu is now out on DVD. I saw this in the theater earlier in the year and wanted to recommend it to anyone who like's Miike's sense of humor.

For me, it was one of the more enjoyable of his movies. Crap, what an ending. It had the very small audience with which I viewed it howling in laughter and disgust. It's a little slow in places, but stick with it, because you won't be disappointed.

I'm only a semi-fan of Miike and wasn't completely sold by Gozu. Definitely creative and original but for me, a work has to have something related to reality as a base. This is probably why my favorite Miike film is still Audition. Gozu just becoming more and more surreal and really never returned to any sense of reality. Judging by the ending, Miike must have a very weird sense of humor though.
