| Besides the films by Amos Gatai ... any other good Israeli and/or Middle Eastern films? They aren't easy to find. I'm interested in any films from the region (including Palestinian and Arab). And, I enjoy films from the various perspectives. Documentaries are great too. Any suggestions. Already have several from GC in my queue. |

Have you seen the documentary Promises? It's made by two Americans and an Israeli, I believe, but is about Palestinian and Israeli children who eventually meet. It's really touching and unforgettable.

Excellent documentary and really one of the best on the subject. I hope they'll be able to do another like it. It's nice when a film like talks to real people, not just the politicos and spokespeople. The extras on the DVD were a nice touch. I'm impressed by the young man who moved to America and went to work for Wal-Mart. I've met people like him in my travels in the Middle East.
More importantly, this film showcased what really needs to be done if there truly is to be peace in the Middle East. Well done.
I'd love to see more documentaries like this (and not necessarily on this specific topic). |
