Someone on a forum for a video game I like posted this question. So I am asking it here because someone on this site might actually know the answer. And I will put a little plug in for GC if I can give an answer on the other forum ;)

A few years ago, i saw a few clips about this film, which sadly i forget its name. It is a film about dancing and only dancing. The clip i strongly remembered was a guy and 2 women doing tango. i think it is not a conventional american film, i think it was spanish or argentinian.

Some years now, i wanted to watch this film and might have access to watching. Anyone heard of this film and its title?

That's the first one I can think of.

Most likely Spanish, directed by Carlos Saura, either Tango or maybe Flamenco.

Might be Assassination Tango... but I agree with Eoliano's guess or Carlos Saura's TANGO, with cinematography by Vittorio Storaro. As long as you're sure there was no butter...

Never Say Never Again had a funny tango scene with Sean Connery and Kim Basinger!

Yeah, that sounds like your culprit... it's too bad the video link isn't working, but according to the description on this page the dancers are "Carlos Rivarola, Cecilia Narova (in lavender) and Mia Meastro(in red). The music is by Lalo Shifrin (born in Argentina in 1932)."

This site has a whole buncha photo stills and quicktime clips from TANGO, but I don't think there's one from the "threesome" scene.

This page has a list of tango films.

Let's not forget Ettore Scola's Le Bal - just a bunch of colorful characters dancing, drinking, smoking and flirting in an old Parisian bote, sans dialogue...

Just to show off how smart and knowledgeable I can be I'll suggset the 1981 flamenco movie Blood Wedding. I'm betting it's Strictly Ballroom (which isn't all dancing) but I'll suggest this one because hamano and eoliano haven't. ha ha ha.

Both Blood Wedding and Stricly Ballroom have dialogue, so I'll wager the title Chas is looking for is Tango, if it's not, I'll eat my castanets...

Blood wedding had five minutes in the beginning. Then it's all dance.

Rereading Chas post, yes, it's probably Tango. But you're pretty sure of yourself if you're willing to eat your castanets.

Dang. Sounds good. As long as we're going to hijack this thread to food any way, I'd just like to say I made a fantastic Raspberry Ice this afternoon. What a simple and wonderful recipe!
