OK, I cant remember the name of this movie, but what I remember about the plot is This young-ish guy lives in an apartment with his dad or uncle and they keep being disrupted by noise and such from the room next door who happen to be gangster types. The young-ish guy falls in love or just starts to like and date this girl who happens to be somehow related to those gang types living next door to his room and/or apartment. Stuff happens and I also remember that somewhere after he finds out about the girls relationship with his neighbors I seen him on his knees begging for something. I wish I can remember more or at least which dvd I seen the trailer on but I cant. So please help me out if you know or even think you know, thanks.

You might be right.

If not... ER, do you remember which country specifically it was from?

Have you guys actually seen "Last Life in the Universe"? Not the plot that I saw. There were neighbors?

I haven't seen it, was just noticing some similarities in some aspects in the plot from some of the descriptions I read. So.. it could very well not be the film, too. Any ideas? If EReyes is in the building, please check in.

Heheh. Not that anyone bothered checking... until now.

EReyes profile is no longer active.

I guess he felt ignored and cancelled his membership to our illustrious community.

I just realized that you said you hadn't seen this...why not!? It's excellent, the story is original, Asano is his usual transcendant self, and it has cameos from Miike and Riki Takeuchi. You definitely shouldn't put this one off any longer.

Well, it's in my queue somewhere, however, Momento Mori finally arrived today, so...

I should have known better, I mean why did I even bother? Hopefully, Last Life in the Universe will make up for it...

Btw, speaking of Tadanobu Asano, he is going to be in a French/US production of Ryu Murakami's Coin Locker Babies, along with Asia Argento, Vincent Gallo, Val Kilmer, Sean Lennon and Liv Tyler, under the direction of first-timer Michele Civetta.

I hate when that happens. I haven't seen Momento Mori yet, so I take it that I shouldn't. I'm pretty burnt out on horror movies anyway.

This has been in pre-production for a while. I wonder what's going on with it? None of those people are young enough to play the leads, anyway, maybe that's the problem. Or maybe they can't find their DATURA.

Me too! Well don't bother wasting a rental on Memento Mori then, especially with so many worthwhile films out there. Meanwhile, the DVD has been languishing somewhere in the postal system for a week and has yet to make it back to GC. Support alert!

Never take anything too seriously on the IMDb, I mean, it's listed as an adventure for goodness sake! It could very well be in production or has already wrapped. Datura, yeah, I bet there's some growing within walking distance of the freeway...

I just realized that it's pointless feeding this thread since it's more or less dead, so you might as well reply in your new Asian thread.
