| Animal Love and Dog Days are both playing at Facets here in Chicago. Anyone know if these are worth seeing? |

reviews i've read make seidl sound like someone with one hand pointed toward michael haneke and the other toward larry clark.
this by david hudson on GC:
The Austrian film Hundestage/Dog Days is probably the most daring of the bunch and was evidently quite an exhausting shoot. Some consider the film ruthlessly nihilistic, but if so, it certainly isn't in the "usual" Eurofilm way. If you're looking for something different, here you go.
dog days played here last weekend but i had something else scheduled. |

artvamp, checking out your favorite movies in your profile, I think it's relatively safe to recommend that you give one a try. I haven't seen Animal Love, but as for Dog Days...

... that's pretty damn good! I think if we turn up the fun quotient of that assessment a notch or two, we just might have nailed him. |
