I swore I'd never watch a reality TV show. Never. :'( I;ve betrayed my own vow! While channel surfing, I came across the pilot episode of Kept...and I'm watching. *sob*
Okay, so it's entirely too self-obsessed. I mean...guys with nice bodies, nice faces...*drool*...who are competing to be Gerry Hall's kept man? Yeah, totally self-centered, superficial, and shallow. But did I mention *drool*?
Plus, I think it'll be hilarious to see a bunch of older women decide who stays and who goes. >_> I've become something I despise. :(

And if naked lunch doesn't work for you then I suggest you buy a case of this just in case you can't get rid the Mugwumps... |

holy moly. dpowers is still alive? I could've sworn...
Oh well, anyway back on topic. I've recently been watching the marathoning episodes of The Big Catch (the alaskan crab catching show). Yes it does get repetitive but the first few episodes was pretty compelling.. I thought.
Perhaps it's just the travelphile in me but I think any "reality show" that is set in a foreign locale is quite interesting just because of the backdrop. On the opposite end of the spectrum are the "relationship" reality shows which seemed the worst of all reality shows in general.. for me anyway. They're based on such artificial situations.. what's the point? |

LOL! Well...I'd agree there. Actually, I hate the Fear Factor ones the most, as they seem to thrive the most on humiliating the people on the show. (Not that Kept isn't going to do that.) But relationship ones are next.
Kept is set in England... >_> I don't consider it a relationship one in the same way Joe Millionaire and whatnot are. These oh-so-hunky guys are competing to be paid lovers (which, to me, is vastly different from Looking For Love). And it'll be amusing to see who ends up being considered the right blend of looks, personality, intelligence, and charm/sophistication/manners/etc. In other words, who can fit in with the upper class. I actually think Gerry Hall (sp?) is pretty funny so far. (Maybe it's the feminist mixed with the lecher in me that wants to watch?) And you have to admit, people are fascinated by that whole Kept Man thing. What was that movie Richard Gere was in..?
Personally, I'm rooting for Austen first, and Jason second. They seem the right mix. ^_^ (And oddly enough, I NEVER go for blonde, white guys! -Austen-) |

[**Sigh!**] Oh, Battie -- not you, too!
(Now, sweet markhl, I could believe...)
If you still want to live, shall I put you in touch with a lobotomist or an exorcist? (I'm sure that I can find someone to do both...)
If you'd like a mercy killing, I can oblige, but you'll have to wait a bit. I'm...backlogged. ;) |

Perhaps we can simply chalk this up to temporary in(s)anity. I have selfish reasons for wanting to keeping Battie whole-brained, possessed, and unmercifully alive.

I don't mind realitity tv, so long as the prize is legit. Like with idol, they all flop and are owned for life by the producers. But with America;s next top model, I have seen some new ads and the last comic standing has a decent job at vh1.
