The Angel season opener was funny. I don't really know who Harmony is (there are lots of Buffy and Angel seasons I've never seen). The previews made it seem like there was more Spike in the first episode, but I guess they really did need to set up the new season before they brought him on board.
Lots of good opportunities for lawyer jokes. |

| I've said elsewhere that they need to either deal with the handwringing over working for W & H quickly or push it deep into the background until the season finale. I don't think I can take 2-3 heartfelt "are we doing the right thing here?" discussions per ep. Hopefully Spike will take things in a more interesting/compelling direction. |

Oh, I missed it! I watched West Wing instead...drats. Angel does a lot of rebroadcasts so hopefully I can catch it on Saturday afternoon or something.
Harmony, I think is Spike's ex-girlfriend 2 seasons ago on Buffy. She was this vapid airhead blonde who pretty much took on the cheerleader valley-girl position after Cordelia became one of the good guys. Then she was bit and turned into a vamp by Spike for fun. She became this nagging thorn in Spike's side for a while. Comic relief for the most part. |

I taped The West Wing, which reminds me that I should watch it.
Yes, Harmony seems to be playing Costello to Angel's Abbott.
I'm sure the handwringing will be kept to a minimum once things get rolling. |

Honestly, I have been avoiding "Angel" and I have far too many addictions as it is. But I know the pleasure of a Jess Whedon teleplay.
I better leave this topic before...

Nitpick: Spike didn't turn Harmony into a vampire. She was bit at the end of Season 3, during the chaos surrounding the graduation day ceremony, when Spike was off in South America or someplace. She was his girlfriend off and on for a while, though. |

Yeah...she was actually one of Cordy's cronies in the first season. It's been kind of fun to watch her evolution - I watched this ep of Angel, but haven't seen any other Angel episodes except for the first half of the first season. So - I just queued 'em up!!

The second episode of the new season of Angel was good, too. Spike is in an interesting predicament.
Who was the guy that played the necromancer? His voice was very recognizable. |

| Waaaah! The WB has canceled Angel (after this season completes). I was thoroughly enjoying the new episodes, too. In last night's episode, Angel was turned into a muppet. It was hilarious. |

I've been thinking about suicide ever since I heard the news. The Buffy universe is finally dead. (besides the games and novels and other crap)
What am I supposed to watch now, Friends? UGH! |

| Awww, Friends ends too, this season. I'm sure Angel will live on in many reruns... it seems like a syndication friendly show. I don't know how they're gonna tie up all the law firm stuff... Hopefully Whedon and his posse will come up with a good finale. Would it be too much to hope for a Buffy guest appearance? |

Angel is cancelled... yet Everybody Loves Raymond is still number one... so it's finally happened. Armegeddon is finally upon us. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

It seems like this is a very bad time for Free TV. You are not going to be able to watch "Friends" very long! So many of the really great shows are gone and finally some like "Friends" that have been on life support for long got that DNR order. But where is the next "Northern Exposure" or "Chicago Hope" or "L.A. Law".
And please, somebody nuke the "E.R." and put it out of it's misery!
And have you noticed that during sweeps now, instead of good TV shows or even mini-series, we get reruns of Hollywood blockbusters. "Shrek" is on for the second time this week! I like it but I own it - doesn't really one?
Attention, clueless Network TV execs! Running a top selling DVD is not good for ratings!!!! |
