What are your favorite film scores and soundtracks?
They were asking this on BBC's Five Live film review program this past month, some interesting responses from listeners.
Anything from "About a Boy"'s soundtrack by Badly Drawn Boy to Bernard Herrmann (for many a Hitchcock). I'd have a hard time choosing a score but Herrmann's would definitely be up there -- for North by Northwest, Psycho, Vertigo, etc, as well as Taxi Driver.
Of newer movies, Hans Zimmer's score for Inception is certainly getting talked about a lot.
What are your faves? |

And i think everyone knows this but... a score is the original music composed for the film, usually instrumental but doesn't have to be. Soundtrack consists of the pieces of previously composed music put together for the movie, usually songs (like Rolling Stones songs on a Scorsese soundtrack)...
But who cares -- what films have had great music? |
