Looks like its bombing at the boxoffice, yes it opened at #3 but it only beat Spiderman 2 by 2.1 million and furthermore it cost over 100 mil to make. (Catwoman made 17mil)

Im not really suprised by this, I think Halle Berry is the worst actress in my lifetime to win an Oscar, while Denzel earned his that year, her getting one will remain a "mystery" (not really I know why she won)

In any case im glad to see a movie that looks really bad doing badly, Id hate for more stupid Marvel Comic or other Superhero movies to get made.

After Hulk, Daredevil, Spiderman 1 & 2, Hellboy, Xmen and its sequel, Catwoman and a future Superman movie

(I might have even missed on at the list)

Anyway enough is enough, im tired of stupid unoriginal comic franchises becoming movies. Seriously its getting ridiculous and its WORSE than reality tv. (I dont watch tv fyi)

Hurray for the failure of Catwoman!

But let's not be too hard on ALL comic book adaptations. Some that you listed I found quite enjoyable. And let's not forget Ghost World or American Splendor. And I'm looking forward to Ghost Rider so long as it is done well, (aka it isn't directed by McG [which I don't think it is]).

I wonder if anyone has made as poor a choice of movie roles after winning an oscar as Halle Berry has?

Does that same fate await Charlize Theron when she does Aeon Flux?

Yeah, you missed Punisher and Blade, Blade II and the upcoming Blade Trinity. There's also a new Batman movie coming soon starring Christian Bale, and a third X-Men movie.

What happened to that Superman movie? After Kevin Smith screwed up his draft of the script, I thought that project was dead.

The guy who directed the xmen movies or wrote the scripts or something is onboard now, so the superman movie is definitely going to get made.

But yeah basically im sick of comic book movies such a lack of creativity.

Unbreakable was bad too but its only semi-based on comics.

I don't know I just think Hollywood should maybe think outside the box with their blockbusters.

I mean come on every comic doesn't need a movie, does it?

Then, of course, there's The Fantastic Four, starring Jessica Alba as the invisible girl and Michael Chiklis as The Thing!

One that might be really intresting is the adaptation of Alan Moore's Watchmen, directed by Darren Aronofsky. On the other hand, other Alan Moore projects have not faired that well.

What's the point if she's gonna be invisible? It's not like they're hiring her because she's such a great actor...

They probably won't be prancing about in those form-fitting FF uniforms, either.

Catwoman (2004)
(Mild Spoilers)

1: I actually saw the movie. 2: I do not hate nor do i love Halle Berry. 3: I don't care that Michelle Pfeiffer wasn't in this movie, although she is great, she is a bit long in the tooth now for the role. 3: I don't think it's necessary to have Batman in the movie. 4: I don't care that the movie doesn't follow the comic book. 5: I will judge this movie based on it's own merits and not from some prejudice for or against Halle Berry.

I think the movie was very good and is what it should be, a fun summer action movie. Some say Halle Berry can't act, whatever the truth is, Halle is the Catwoman in this movie and plays her part very well. The same goes for Sharon Stone who has been leveled with the same criticism, Sharon is an evil villainess and her character is fun to hate.

What i loved the best about this movie was the action. The action is beautifully choreographed, the fight scenes were energetic and exciting. I loved the little cat and mouse encounter between Catwoman and the detective Tom Lone (Benjamin Bratt) as he was trying to apprehend her. As well as the vicious encounter between Catwoman and Laurel Hedare (Sharon Stone).

It is a revenge movie which is a favorite kind of movie for me. Halle Berry plays timid Patience Phillips who is murdered after hearing something she shouldn't have. After coming back to life with the aid of a cat, she seeks revenge.

I love the assertive Catwoman in the sexy leather who doesn't take crap from people. And this Catwoman truly is a Catwoman. Unlike Pfeiffer who was a woman with catlike movements, Unlike Peter Parker who is a man with spider abilities, and unlike Batman who is a man in a bat costume, Halle is a blend between a cat and a woman.

I like that this movie takes place in a normal looking modern city and not some plastic looking Gotham city. It made it easier for me to relate to and also easier for me to accept the fantasy aspects of the movie.

I think the movie is getting an undeserved bad rap. I've read a lot of bad reviews/opinions from those who haven't seen the movie based on negative personal feelings they have against Halle. That's too bad.

I have not seen catwomen but form what I know it has nothin to do with the comic. Catwomen never had cat like powers and was never brought back to life by cats either. They got that form Tim Burtons batman. She suppose to be a cat burgerler who got the idea for the custom after a run in with batman. What I dont undersand is why they would make this movie that seems to be connected with the old Batman movie when next year they will be coming out with Batman Begins which will have nothing to do with any of the films form before, infact they want to start the hole franchise over and this time be much more faithful to the comic. Which is good because most comic book movies that sucks are because they have no repect for the source material, ie Batman and Robin.
