Okay, so a month or so back, I got Doomed Megaolopolis discs 1 and 2 from Greencine. The problem was, disc 1 was completely wrecked-- shattered, and the only thing really holding it together was the decal on the front. I emailed customer service, explained the situation, and sent the discs back in. The rep was kind enough to release the next disc in my queue, though I was still a wee bit miffed because I was actually missing TWO rentals, since I couldn't watch Disc Two and not Disc One.
As instructed by this site, I clearly marked the envelope: "DISC SHATTERED. DO NOT RECIRCULATE!!"
I waited patiently for Doomed Megalopolis to come back in stock, and rented it again. Just got discs 1 and 2 today. I opened disc 1 up, and instinctively examined it-- and it's the SAME DISC. Still shattered, still completely unplayable.
So now I've had four rentals delayed by a week because this broken disc was incorrectly released back into circulation. What's the deal? Should I just not bother with Doomed Megaolpolis?
It's kind of annoying. Missing this many rentals, I don't really feel like I'm getting my money's worth. (Rentals take a few days to reach me, because I'm on the east coast.) Please tell me this was a mistake and it won't happen again...! |

I'm curious, did they ask you to send the broken disc back?

I just did what the FAQ told me to do. And yes, they asked for it back. |

Animejump--
Apologies for that. We take shattered discs out of our mix immediately. Some discs we noticed are very susceptible to breakage -- the one you requested sounds like one of them.
I'll be in touch with you offline to settle up on this. We'll see that you're taken care of.
best regards--
