I did not make this topic to bitch. :)
Just a place to list DVDs in your rental queue that have been red for awhile...Was thinking this could be useful.

Another thing you can do more directly for any titles you're concerned about availability for, is to email our buyers directly, at dvdrequest@greencine.com or catalog@greencine.com.

They shall investigate inventory levels for those titles all the quicker if you do that; assuming they're not already taking care of it. As you can see from here, we replenish our catalog pretty frequently. But definitely feel free to prod us about any of these. Thanks!

Re this one:

Try the widescreen SE as linked above. That one is plenty available.

Useful? You bet. I usually zap GC reds and try elsewhere, but this thread prompted me to search GC for Sokurov's Elegy of the Land (1977) that's been "very long wait" for months in my NF cue, including delivery of a wrong Sokurov disc in a "...Land" sleeve.

Turns out it's GC green. Cool! Thanks!

What's going on with Eureka Seven Vol. 11, availability red, while Vol. 12 just out is green so far? (NF bombs out on this. YouTube's an option, but a painful one.)

I've had red status on "The Wire: Season 2, Disk 3" and "Disk 4" for months now. All of the following disks (all the way through season 5) are readily available.

I may have to review the previous disks just to remember what's going on in the series when (if?) I ever receive them.

Eureka Seven Vol. 11 was recalled by the manufacturer so we're waiting on repurchasing this one for now - read more here: http://www.bandai-ent.com/news/pr9b05.html?id=134

We will be waiting until our vendors let us know that they've received all new copies of these discs before we buy more. Thanks for your patience!

Sailor Moon: Season Two Uncut (Disc 4 of 8) (1993)
Sailor Moon: Season Two Uncut (Disc 5 of 8) (1993)

The thing I wonder is, if there is a long line for a red one, are we in a FIFO queue all the time or is the line for that title only for people who happen to need a DVD right then and there.

For example, it is time for a title and I am next in line for "Sailor Moon: Season Two Uncut (Disc 4 of 8) (1993)" but it becomes available while I have the max Greencine DVDs for my account and so I lost my place to the person who happens to need a DVD at that time.

That can compound the problem.

I'll pass those two along, Van. But as to your question, you don't lose your place in line as it were. yes, if you have all your slots filled - movies checked out - when a title becomes available, and someone else right below you has an opening, they'll get it. But you'll still be next in line for it for whenever availability + your open slots match up.

This thread is very helpful in explaining how queue priority works.

The Sailor Moon series is VERY out of print :( (copies are going for hundreds of dollars on Amazon) - strange taking into account it was such a popular series. We're keeping our eyes peeled for a re-release.

Yes, you and a billion fans! I have read several conflicting rumors and don't know if it was Teoi or Takeuchi-sama who decided to implode the rights to Sailor Moon worldwide but they are tucked in the Disney, er, I mean, in same vault. They have made 10,000 bootleggers very happy.

I suppose you estimate the demand level using software? I mean you have a database with a lot of information. You have the average turn around time of each movie how many people are waiting for that movie. I suppose guy will use some report to find and replenish high demand movie, don't you?

We do run reports to repurchase inventory. We also answer to special requests that are emailed to us and field customer suggestions.

We'll be sure to take a look at this KKell, but just as a note, we're going to wait to repurchase Permanent Midnight until July 29th when a new, better quality version is being released.

I am not real sure about this but I think that The Golden Coach (Criterion Collection) (1952) has been red for a few years now.

Yah, that disc seems a bit cursed hereabouts and it doesn't help that you can only reacquire it by purchasing the entire Criterion three-film Renoir set. But we are looking into ways to replace it nonetheless, if possible. Thanks for the prod.
