I joined GreenCine solely for these movies. They have occupied the number 1 and 2 spots in my queue since I joined. They have always been orange. When I first joined, my reasoning was "Ill go for 8 at a time. Maybe that will increase my chances of getting these 2 movies". No dice. After months, I went down to One-at-a-time. The reason I kept one slot was so that I would still be in line for either of those 2 movies.

Last Sunday "Shivers" went green. WOW!!!! I quick return the movie I had just received and refresh to see that Shivers was shipped.

Nope. Grrr.

Okay. Ill increase my plan to 2 out so they will ship me the movie that has been first in my queue for months and is now green.

Nope. Grrr.

Somebody hook a brother up. If I need to increase to 8 at a time for a month to get this, Im willing to do that. I just want those 2 movies. If that movie goes back to orange without me getting my turn at it, Ill... I dunno what Ill do, but it will be childish and silly.

We have many people queued for those two items and very limited stock, so, please, be patient and don't slap anyone's momma! I don't think you'll need to upgrade your plan to 8-at-a-time just for Shivers/Rabid, they should come to you soon enough. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the titles on GreenCine besides those 2 ;)

yeah, very frustrating.

Well, you could watch something like "Scanners" or "The Brood" in the meantime.

Or if you have seen those perhaps something of a similar nature. In place of "Shivers" how about "The Hidden" or "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" - the 1978 version.

And in place of "Rabid" how about the Spanish film "(REC)" or maybe Del Toro's first film "Chronos".

What's frustrating is that SHIVERS is out of print, which makes it impossible for us to add more copies. As soon as that one comes out in a newer edition, as I'm hopeful it will, it will be easier for all of us.

If it hadn't turned green, I wouldn't be frustrated. As I understand it, green means, "If you have a slot, we will send it to you"

Not true.

I was under the same impression and if you have seen the other thread, you know now, we were wrong. It is sad to think that a David Cronenburg film is out-of-print! And you realize, now that you mentions this, xaos01, you risk waking up other sleeping Cronenburg fans and make it red again.

However, I will wait and leave it out of my queue until you post the you got it. And I have not and will not mention those disc that have at the top of my queue for most of the last two years.

I just had a "[rec]" vs. Quarantine double feature this weekend and it made me sad about the state of American horror movies. It seemed to me that the makers of Quarantine missed the point of the original film entirely, while still aping the original's look and plotline.

The end sequence in [rec] is delightfully creepy and it put an interesting twist on the fast rage-infected zombie genre. During this sequence, the protagonist finds an old tape recorder that gives a bit more information about what's going on that just adds to the horror. What happens in the American remake? The entire twist is removed, but there's still a tape recorder. What happens when it's turned on? The tape plays back at slow speed so you can't understand what was recorded. Does anybody try to adjust the playback speed? No. Why is that tape recorder even there? Argh!!!
