| I wish they would do a proper inventory and remove discs they no longer have. For example when a disc is reported possibly lost in the mail give it say a month then remove it from the catalog or better yet order a new one. Even red bars seem to indicate you have at least one copy which gives the wrong expectations. It makes it hard to know what you actually carry. Also note we don't see red bar until we add it to our que. I understand you may not be able to afford to buy more copies of everything that is missing and of course some are out of print. I am asking you simply clean up your inventory. |

| As an aside, catalog@greencine.com is the email the help page says for requesting titles. |

salya: don't know if you're new to here or not, but if you read back through some of the posts you'll find this very request has been made by many, many others (including myself) for YEARS now.
What's most distressing about GC's whole "color bar" system is that the different colors for supposed availabilty really mean doodly-squat--ANY COLOR except Green pretty much means odds are very high that you ain't gonna get it.
To test this in the past, I put all Blue titles in most of my top 20 requests since they are supposed to be the shortest wait. Over the course of a couple months, I got one of them, and everything else shipped was a Green from further down my list.
I believe GC "had" many of these titles in their stock (probably only 1 copy, though) at some time in the past, but due to negligence, attrition, or acts of god, whatever, they obviously aren't around anymore.
And as a minor conspiracy theorist, the only reason I can come up with for why GC hasn't cleaned up their inventory is because showing these titles as "maybe available" is a lure that draws new members here when they first join and then start building requests; they think, "Ooh! That rare film on disc I've been looking for, they have it here! All I have to do is wait a bit and it will be sent to me!" Yep, keep hoping for that but don't hold your breath because you'll pass out pretty quickly.

I know, I was just trying to start up a conversation about the movies that are growing old in queues.

Wow, I had a non-green title ship today! That was the first time in months.
Salyavin -- try emailing a short list of some of the titles that are never shipping in your queue to support@greencine.com and see what happens.
