| Can we come back to the subj of this thread, which is Turnaround Times? Mine have gotten way worse in the last month (Monterey CA). Lots of times films that would be there in one day, now take 3 or 4. So the move to So Cal has dropped the value of my GC plan by about half. This sucks. I am going to start checking the catalogs of the competition. |

Nice pet peeve. Irritates me too. Another one of my pet peeves is when people call chimpanzees or gorillas monkeys. They aren't monkeys! They are apes.

So, my husband and I after thinking that doubling our plan would get us back to where we were before the whole restructuring mess has been proven wrong, we are thinking now that we might look into going back to the lowest plan that GC has and opening up an additional plan with a rival company. I know many subscribers already do that but I would rather have given all my business to one company.
Maybe in 6 months when all the kinks get worked out and company X pisses us off we will be all GC again. Who knows. GC was our first movie subscription company we ever tried so I guess we may be surprised when we get out there.
And to those who like to respond harshly to those calmly stating their current findings in mail timings, please note that we might be just posting it on here to let GC know so that they can somehow monitor their progress or lack thereof towards their original claim of getting the Bay Area down to 1-2 days each way. |

my pet peeve is when someone refuses to watch something subtitled and would not only rather watch it in English, but if English dubbing isn't available they dont want to watch it at all.
Im a non violent person but that makes me angry enough to want to *****slap someone |

My pet peeve is when they have that ... weirdness, but then don't get that having a such a weirdness invalidates their opinion so that they post reviews saying things like "This might have been an okay movie but I couldn't tell because it wasn't dubbed an I don't like subtitles" or "Horrible movie. Had subtitles and I don't like to read."
This is a bit like saying "This movie might have been a good movie except it was intelligent and I'm stupid so I didn't understand it" or "Horrible movie. It didn't make any effort to be understandible by people as stupid as I am. That's sooooo inconsiderate!"

My thoughts exactly. I'm on the other extreme. I've stopped renting Star Blazers once I found out it was an english only dub. |

I full on agree with you here. I threw a big fit last night because my roommates chose to watch the dubbed version of Night Watch instead of the subtitled. I even tried explaining how the subtitles are PART of the movie...to no avail. I told them they made me sick and left the room. |

I have 1 male and 2 female roommates and we all get along but the male roommate is like that too, he wont watch something unless its not subtitled.
Drives me crazy, so he misses out on a lot of cool stuff I dont even bother showing him or telling him about. |

Please try sending the e-mail straight to support@greencine.com. If that one bounces, please let me know. |

I also agree, doozer. Something always seems to get lost in the dubbing.
Unless one is fluent in Russian, view Night Watch and Day Watch in the original language with the...interactive subtitles. |

To woozy...
I'm sorry for the confusion that I may have caused you. Sometimes the pictures in my head don't always make sense to someone else. |

Confussion? I can read you like a ... like an unpredictable capricious force.
But confussion with you around is like a scent of perfume on a hot sticky night.

Indeed. The zoo finally taught me the easy way to tell the difference: monkeys have longish tails, apes don't. Now it all seems so simple!

Hmm... this week's return time was especially poor. I dropped it off late in the day on Monday (20th) at a local copy/shipping store because they collect later than the nearest mailbox. So, even going out on Tuesday most likely, it didn't reach GC until Saturday! A full two days longer than the normal delivery time from San Francisco.
On Friday I also dropped off another disc directly at the local post office in their metered mail slot well at around noon with a final pick-up at something like 5:30. Considering that the mail travels, but just isn't delivered on Sunday it definitely should have made it to GC by Monday, but as of Tuesday morning it's still not in. Hopefully it'll only be two days late again.
Still, it's unsettling that return times have actually gotten longer. Delivery times, however, remain solid at two days (i.e. the delivery shipped from GC on Sat. was received here on Monday). |

| I live in SF and jsut signed up at the beginning of August for the first time. I kind of wish I had read the message boards beforehand. I'm averaging about a week from the time I send a movie back and then get a new one to watch. Although the last one was a little faster, I think by a day. My tastes and interests in movies aren't that obscure so I might be checking out the competition, but I'll give it a little while before deciding. I wish they would post updates as to whether they've had any success in getting specific post offices to expedite their envelopes (such as oakland). I'm wondering if my post office in upper haight is at fault for slow delivery. |

| In addition to the annoyances of 4-5+ postal days of discs getting back to Van Nuys, I don't understand why discs mailed at the same time in the same post box don't get there together. I mailed two back from a post box near the Federal Building in SF in the morning (the box has two morning pick up times) on Thursday of last week. It should have been received on Saturday, but only one was received today. The other one is MIA as far as I know, but I can't say anything until Thursday this week. I even tried writing "FIRST CLASS MAIL" on the front of the envelope to see if that helps things, but apparently it doesn't (still took 4 postal days instead of 2). I'm trying the Oakland post box with today's return, despite the trouble from the East Bay, to see if there might be any changes. |

| I don't know about your post boxes, but I know for a fact that the posted pick up times on the inside door of my post box on my corner are complete lies. It says they comes once at 9:30 and again , I think, at 12:30. I work at home and know for a fact they only come once, at around 3:00. |

I dont mind it now, seems to be getting quicker. I did get my first broken disk this week, but blockheadbuster would do that once a month. No problem.... Keep adding anime...
