I saw War of the Worlds the other day and Cruise was AWFUL, as usual. Why some critics thought that film was a "near masterpiece" I'll never understand. Dakota Fanning was pretty good in the first 20 minutes, but then she just devolved into the standard wide-eyed, dirty-faced, thin-lipped, shrieking, near-catatonic Spielberg kid. I HATE those Spielberg kids... She was still better than Cruise....

I was probably just entering high school when the movie came out. But you're right, I do avoid all things Tom Cruise. Except for Top Gun. That was my favorite movie when I was a kid.

Tom Cruise or Shia LeBeouf in a cast will completely turn me off of a movie. Which saddens me because I hear Shia might be Yorick in Y: The Last Man.
