Call me crazy, but was that Mrs. Doubtzilla?

I don't think "icon theft" is a big problem anyway. Most people like to be thought of as original, even if they aren't. Take me for example. I didn't make my icon. I found it at some website. If I had taken it from the GC discussion board somewhere, and then used it as my own, then there would be trouble. But discussion boards are about ultimatley about personal expression, are they not? So even if such theft did occur, it wouldn't last long if that person wanted to continue to be taken seriously by the rest of the board.

But insofar as we come to identify individual members by their icons, I think the concept of stealing that identity is worth exploring, especially if you tweak the icon you stole somewhere to put in an original element.

(It's animated but set not to repeat. If you want to see it again hit "refresh" on your browser and reload the icon.)

GreenCine's, because it started out as their icon, or mine, because I "created" this version, or does it belong to the person who stole it and started using it? (BTW, if anyone wants this icon, please feel free to take it!)

Have any plans to put up a "Kentucky Fried Totoro" icon, not unlike my old one? :)

Come to think of it, there was a "making-of" documentary on the Spirited Away DVD that included a scene where Hayao Miyazaki helped himself to a piece of KFC.

Heh, I kinda like some of your icons, Hamano; when do you do all of this? Special big props for the tricked out Japanese guy (ha ha ha)

I suggest that GC should expand its collection of generic icons. Why is Godzilla the only monster? There should be others, like Gappa!, the Blob, and (my personal fav) King Ghidora. And as for Batman, perhaps some competiton is in order - like, say, the Joker, or Spawn, or maybe the Incredible Hulk.

What do you say?! Who's with me??

What are you interested in? There are a bunch of amateur graphics artists here (no offense intended for any professionals) who're interested in seeing what their design software is capable of.

I'm tempted to try my hand on something myself. Maybe the transformation of Tetsusaiga. Hmmm...

Actually, if you're not interested in a customized avatar, you can find thousands of anime icons at this website (WARNING! Pop-up ads galore). Just select what level of resolution you want (64x64 ppi in the case of GC).

Does MS Paint mangle things too much when enlarging/shrinking icons like that?

Shrinking is okay; enlarging is how you get ickiness.

I've made my last two icons from screenshots I've taken from my favorite anime series. My husband animated my last one and it even drove me nuts, hehe. But now I have this nice plain-vanilla one of Griffith (of Berserk fame) looking really piqued. Maybe I should animate it? hmmmm.....

Since everyone who wears cowboy hats actually are aliens, maybe it could open its mouth with the Alien inner-mouth coming out. That would be cool :-)

Ohhh!!!! That looks really nice. In the scene I took it from, it was night. I pained over whether to remove the starry night background or not, but he seemed to show up better without it. I'm not real Photoshop savy myself.
