Favorite alcoholic drinks? Nastiest ones?

When does enjoyment of alcohol become 'alcoholism'?

Does the floor usually move like that?
(Kidding. Give me another two hours.)

I'd like to recommend DEVDAS... kinda like Leaving Las Vegas with singing and dancing.

A Guinness, carefully pulled from a tap, with that oh so creamy head on top.

there is a bar/cafe near me that makes the very best Old Fashion imaginable. I only need one of those to be properly inebriated.

worst tasting thing I ever had (outside of any drink that incorporates Red Bull) was Fernet-Branca. How did that stuff ever become trendy? I mean, one of the ingredients is aloe fer crying out loud.

Well the house cocktail around here is:

Equal parts rum (Mount Gay is the favorite, we use Cruzan light as an inexpensive alternative) and Triple sec. Squeeze in about at least one half of a lime. Fill with ice and enjoy.

Sometimes i will water it down with some soda, a citrus or grapefruit type soda works best.

Nastiest drink? Hmmm...when i was younger and in a bar for the first time and wanted to appear sophisticated (in a college bar? Yeah, right.) i ordered a rusty nail. Didn't particularly like it at the time and never had another one again. Perhaps it was my inexperienced palate, i don't know.

You add the "ism" when it causes a schism! (To paraphrase Peter Tosh.)

Absolute used to be my favorite in my youth. Popov seems popular with the bums--judging by the empties littering my neighborhood.

"When does enjoyment of alcohol become 'alcoholism'?" We transfused a patient over 10 units of blood (lower GI bleed). It was coming out as fast as we put it in. His response was, "You think I should cut down [drinking]?"

See? He wasn't addicted. He could stop any time... he just needed affirmation....

This sounds like something I must try. I make the same drink for myself at home, except substitute ginger ale for the grapefruit soda, minus the cherry.

Even worse than Red Bull is Rockstar Energy JUICE. That thing mixed with anything tastes like cherry flavored Robitusson. On the flip side, mixing Soju with this type of Korean Aloe Drink is very tasty and refreshing, in my opinion.

My favorite drink indulgence, outside of aged Scotch, is a Bloody mary. Zuni Cafe in SF makes an AWESOME one full of fresh bits of peppers and onion. I'm going to be ambitious one day and make this version (thank you Playing With Fire and Water Food blogger). And next time I'm in New York I too want to sample the Violet Fizz here and the rest of the crazy sounding cocktails at this place.

When you put your head, where a head should never have to go and you praise God and give thank for the cold, cold porcelain.

Thank you, Bill Cosby!

And praise be the sweet Goddess, that I can not remember the last time I threw up!

Now, make mine a Cuevo Gold on the rocks, no salt, no lime.

And don't look at me like that!. I sip it slow and enjoy the taste. One will last about an hour.

Or a Guiness Extra Stout. More filling, taste great. Two or three is all I can hold for an evening. Liquid steak!

Eek, Guinness Extra Stout shall be enjoyed only in it's pure and natural state! Well, at least you are are not mixing it with Coors. What an abomination!

Just my personal theological problem, sorry.
