Please Help Cinephiles! What movie am I thinking of??

trevorsteve	post #1  on February 24, 2005 - 3:01 AM PST   I saw this on IFC or Sundance or something a while back but i can't for the life of me remember the title or even any of the actors. It's a story about an out of work philosopher who undergoes a kind of odyssey one night in a city in England, which means, essentialy, he hops from encounter to encounter and talks about philosophy. His nemesis is another Nietzsche superman type character who is bless with such dialogue gems as "Do you think women enjoy being raped?" and "I'm going to kill myself when i'm 40. I don't want to be old, do you!?" Please help, this is driving me craaaazy! -Trevor
underdog	post #2  on February 24, 2005 - 12:45 PM PST   Hmm, doesn't ring any bells - so it's a British film? And do you recall how recently it was made? Within the last couple of years? Any other clues will help - now I'm curious, too.

DLeonard	post #4  on February 24, 2005 - 1:57 PM PST   Sounds a little like Mike Leigh's Naked with David Thewlis. Most of the film depicts his trolling around London alternatly insulting or arguing with others. But there are also scenes with a "girlfriend" and her troubles with a roommate and a brutish landlord. Oh yeah, and I don't think it's on DVD.
