| Anybody out there watch Giant Robo? I like the series. I never finished it when I was a kid. I've watched the first two volumes and I'm still waiting for Greencine to get the third final volume and the Ginrei Special. |

| Wow you guys are harsh. It is better to start off with conclusive reasons that it sucks before actually saying "sucks". This way it persuades the non-believer through common sense and reasoning. You guys just plain hurt his feelings. |

| What do you mean "you guys"? I was just responding to NLee's "secret message". :) I have no opinion on Giant Robo since I don't think I have ever seen it. |

You need to start reading between the lines, shiori. Of course your advice: "It is better to start off with conclusive reasons that it sucks before actually saying "sucks". This way it persuades the non-believer through common sense and reasoning" would be very appropriate for another normal poster on these boards.

Hey, my trick worked. The whole gang is here now.
I bought the dubbed "Giant Robo" series on 6 VHS tapes back in the late 90's (there was no Ginrei Special at that time). I wasn't particularly impressed by the series. Actually, I thought it sucks because:
- the character designs look like they are from the 1970's - the robot looks really fat and dumb (this is after Neon Genesis Evangelion redefined the whole giant-robot genre) - the story mixed science fiction with samurai fighting and mystical power in completely illogical manners - the little boy in shorts gets really annoying as he was constantly crying and asking "Tell me, can happiness be achieved without sacrifice?"
But since that, thanks to a certain furry creature who is no longer with us, I learned to appreciate the retro-style character design, and the intentionally absurd-looking giant robo. So I'm sure that I'll enjoy it more if I rewatch the series now. But the whining of that little boy is probably still as annoying as ever.

Cool. Some points agreed. I like the retro style. Main reasons I like Giant Robo is Ginrei is hot. I also remember attending Anime Expo in the late 90's. Giant Robo went through all sorts of production delays so we were constantly being appraised of its completion process over 3 years. So mostly it's peaked my curiosity enough to see the whole series.
It's just really annoying to me Greencine has the first two volumes but not the last disc. Finish the series Greencine! I know Mediablasters released the last disc months ago. |

The last disc (#3) of Giant Robo and the Ginrei Special are still for request only. Mean while, both NF and BB have all three discs available, and NF even has the Ginrei Special. Looks like somebody in GC dropped the ball this time.

Surprise! BB has Ginrei Special available as well. It just didn't show up when I did a search on "Giant Robo". I'll probably check it out in a few days. Gloat gloat gloat.

This is typically where underdog would come in and say, "Oh Giant Robo #3 is now on its way and will be here in a week" Isn't it?........................................................................
maybe not.

Well, only to those who believe it to be a bad thing. Not to those who believe it to be a good thing. I *did* have a specific normal poster in mine who *does* tend to give comments of the nature "x sucks", "z's are freaks", "y is awesome", "q was pretty boring" and doesn't seem to get a little exposition is in order.

Hey! I'm normal and proud of it. It is my job to be normal. Even my worst case is still within 3-sigma of the normal distribution.
The above is another engineering joke that probably only IronS and markhl can understand. (learn to read between the lines, shiori) |

Why does everyone keep telling me to do this? Am I missing something here? Did I offend someone?

Probably. Did you read between the lines in the above posts? Here's a hint: Read between the lines... literally!
