Hello all,
Over the last few weeks i've had to return several purchased (new - factory fresh) Anime discs that were defective out of the box. The unplayable titles included: Fafner vol.1 (2 discs in a row), Scrapped Princess vol.3, Wandaba Style vol.3, and others i'm too tired to type in. I'm not counting discs that skip & stop - i've had many more of those.
All discs were tested on several DVD-players, and even on PC DVD-ROM drives to verify that the defect was in the disc not my playback setup.
My question is: are any of you folks experiencing a similar spike in defective ROM media?
Thanks, Wolf. |

| I had problems with Giant Robo 3 and Ginrei Special, both from Animeworks. Those discs skipped. A friend of mine reported that the DVDs for the new release of the Macross Plus Movie from Manga are mislabeled. |

Thanks for your reply. Judging from the response (or lack thereof), I guess we're just unlucky. |

Yeah, a while back I had a defective Evangelion Platinum Edition Vol. 1 disc that was bad. It played, but several audio tracks were missing! I sent the disk back and it seemed like it took forever to get a revised disk back from ADV.
Animeondvd.com has an excellent list of defective disks. |
