Hmmm...a video store?? If it's a toy store...well, the plastic used in various products does give off a strange smell. >:P

Back on topic! Uhmmm....You ever want to be a character just so you can do something different? Like wanting to be the Wolf guy from Inuyasha just to make him seduce Ka..what's her name...rather than being all talk? Piffle! ;) I'm baaaad.

Well, all the adult sections of all the video stores I've been to and all the adult book/video stores have this utterly disgusting musty dirty smell. The thought of wondering *why* the adult section would smell different than the rest of the store or another store that isn't adult, leads to some *very* unsettling thoughts.

Good Vibrations was different. It was clean and well lit. Although to be honest the products seemed kind of tacky and cliche.

> Back on topic! Uhmmm....You ever want to be a character just so you can do something different?

Oh, yeah! Well, with all tv and movies and books. Sometimes I just want the characters to *talk* to each other. Sigh, guess I just want to be a peace maker.

I'd kinda like to see the wolf guy make out with the cute blonde guy in his pack with the mohawk. Oh, wait. His pack was killed. Oh, well. Or see Shippo, the cute little fox kid demon, get scared and hide under kigome's blouse. I'm woooorse.

Perhaps we should discuss a show other than Inuyasha (third movie came out last Tuesday! sorry couldn't help myself) since it does have quite a few enemies in the GC community.

I thought we *were* discussing other shows as well. I must admit I don't get this "let's talk about other shows to be fair" or "can't you guys talk about other shows" If we want to talk about other shows or to say you don't like Inu Yasha just ... do it.

Inu Yasha is basically the only anime show I know. Well, I've seen others but I don't remember any characters that made an impression on me. (Of course, I don't particularly want to be any of the Inu Yasha characters either...)

It's not Koga's style or at least when it comes to Kagome. Remember, he's used to dealing with wolf demon women and now faced with a human, he has to learn to be more considerate and such. Wolf demon wooing ain't gonna cut it here. Besides, Kagome really likes Inu Yasha anyway. She has spent a whole lot of time and effort "gentling" that to change focus now. Plus, Koga can't go to her time; only Inu Yasha can.

Why?

Not to get off topic but I thought it was the jewel fragments that allowed travel between times. Except Kagome carries them all anyway... I'd like to see Shippo go through.

It seems in anime you have to take a *lot* of stuff on faith.

Of course Shippo. As a little kid, he's still allowed to bath and sleep with the girls.

With lots of cool shots of Sesshomaru! And who knew their dad the Great Dog Demon would look so utterly awesome!

The lines as utterly and completely clear-cut. that's a little wierd to me. As a little kid I didn't like bathing with grown-ups and as a fifteen I didn't particularly like or volunteer to jump in a pool with other guys. As an adult, I make a big effort to avoid being naked in front of children unless it'd be very difficult not to.

That's the interesting thing. Kagome can't travel without the shards, but Inu Yasha can (once, when Kagome went home after a fight with Inu Yasha, she realized that she would have to return if only to let them have the shards, but Miroku told Inu Yasha to fetch the shards from her so Inu Yasha can travel without them). It must be how Inu Yasha is connected to Kagome or something. Of course, that could be changed at some point. After all, Kagome's response to having the shards stolen isn't whether she can go home again.

So that he could play with Sota?

That's true of most sci-fi/fantasy works anyway.

No I just like Shippo. Also I've been having a weird satisfaction the last couple years seeing tv characters behaving maternally (one of my favorite aspects of "Angel" {the Buffy spin-off} was seeing Cordelia become maternal) and SHippo needs that. Also I guess I really don't care about any potential romance between the teenagers on the show so I'd rather see Shippo being taken care of then Inu Yasha and Kagome getting it on.

I meant as story telling conventions. Not rules of logic. I suppose all TV has conventions like smart alecky teenagers are street and social wise, and xyz is sassy but has more common sense then beaurocratic abc because xyz is the hero and abc is a stuffy outsider and so on.

I mean I know Inu Yasha is going through changes and he has a bond with Kagome and he's drawing power from all the personal and spiritial stuff he's going through, but surely there are other demons going through the same things too... So we're taking a lot on faith that this is *his* hero story.

So IronS was the third movie good? Waiting for my paycheck so I can fetch a copy. I saw the preview and it looks like the best one yet.

I like it most of the three movies so far. Of course, please keep in mind that I don't particular like the first two (due to the animation style rather than plot). This one expounds more on the sibling rivalry between Inu Yasha and Sesshomaru. Also, we get to see what their father looks like and even what the baby Inu Yasha looks like. (aw!)

The song during the closing credits is pretty good, too.

I decided to check out how the dubbing went for good old Naruto and I was disappointed! UGh, the voices are for the most part completely off. And what the hell is the deal with taking out the blood from the bloody noses when Naruto does his Temptation Jutsu. Seriously, WTF.

Ehh... its pretty sad if they have to censor such a harmless show like Naruto.

Well, I thought it was pretty sad when they felt they had to make a fuss about a harmless nipple ring during the superbowl in the middle of the daylight. But even my whacko lefty friends seem to disagree about this from me.

Dumb Americans....

I actually thought that was kind of weird since they showed blood in other circumstances on the show. If anything I thought they would have edited a bloody back before they would change a nosebleed.

I think they did it because the nosebleed is a kind of visual euphemism (sp?) for arousal.

Jeez, you are probably right but that seems a few levels removed of hypersensitivity. I always thought the idea of euphemism and conventions was that they *were* euphemisms; who cares if "schmuck" means "penis" when you actually want to say "penis". That is *why* you say "schmuck". And didn't "RoseAnne" ten years ago do an entire episode about T.J.'s erections?

Sheesh...
