As a counter-point to ahogue's thread, what animes do you think deserve to be shot from a cannon and into the sun? Beware of flaming; if someone trashes your favorite, don't get upset - that's what this thread is for, so instead of flaming back toss another series into the barrel and rip it to shreads.

I'll start with Yu-gi Oh GX. It's an abomination; a Frankenstein's Monster of the original. How the first 6 volumes of the YGO manga eventually turned into this... I don't even want to understand.

Definitely Naikaku Kenryoku Hanzai Kyosei Torishimarikan Zaizen Jotaro. It's Da Bomb!! Please aim the cannon precisely up Zaizen's posterior orifice.

Lupin the Third. Why Cartoon Network decided to start showing that is beyond me.

I could include a few things from CN itself...Like 12 ounce Mouse and Tom Goes to the Mayor. >:| Think it was the same two idiots who thought that up. My guess is...they're relatives of the execs.

Let's see...Slayers. :P

Anything with tentacle porn [SFW] or mosaics over the naughty bits.

And I liked Castle of Cagliostro. Maybe it loses something in the translation?

I think she's referring to the non-Miyazaki Lupin 3's... the TV show and its offshoot movies... They're pretty bad. The Monkey Punch comics were fun, though.

The movie was fun, but the series, not so much. Cartoon Network used to show Lupin III and I guess they decided to bring it back?

All Purpose Cultural Cat-Girl Nuku-nuku TV. I thought the original was quirky and fun, but this just took things too far. Dash was a step in the wrong direction, but this was the thud at the bottom of the cliff. I seem to remember characters dressing like superheroes/villians and turing all of the school kids into stereotypes. Easily the worst anime I've ever seen.

When I started watching the Ah, My Goddess TV series I felt like that, too! Did that show get any better? If not, fire away!

I'm going to go ahead and nominate Pokemon because it made me buy those damned cards.

...Think I still have some. (Along with about 60 Ty Beanie Babies.)

12-14 are not good years. Thank God I discovered books when I turned 14...I might actually be one of those weird girls who has stuffed animals all over her room if I hadn't. *shudder* Bring out the piercings, baby!

Let's see....I've seen some pretty awful anime. But, happily, can remember little of it. >:D

Can I just throw the whole ecchi/harem/schoolgirl genre into the cannon?

The Wings of Honneamise

And I actually sat through almost that whole movie. Egh.

I can only assume it's one of those anime that are revered in direct proportion to its age.

You can tie a couple of Kilos of fireworks to Bobobobo or whatever the crap it is that's on CN's Adult swim and throw in Milk Chan too.

Make sure they suffer.

giniro no kami no agito

This is quite possibly the best looking worst anime i have ever seen... the story is absolutely horrible, if you took a shot of alcohol for everytime you heard the protaginist say as a one word exclamation: TULA the main females name you would be dead halfway thru the movie.

Besides the Nausicaa-esque rip off plot, its quite possibly the most retarded story gonzo has ever put out, which of course is REALLY saying something there.

Words cannot even describe how absolutely horrible this anime is... i want the 1.5 hours of my life back thnx gonzo.

I will give you mad eprops if you can say something good about it that doesn't involve the animation quality.

I already will throw out the voice acting because the hero shouting Tula's name every 30 seconds made me want to mute it and just read the subtitles.

I liked the opening sequence, especially the song. And besides, I've never seen the other movie you mentioned, so the plot wasn't horribly familiar (though not completely original either).

It's just one of those movies you enjoy watching, though it's not necessarily something you want to jump out and buy as soon as it's on DVD. But I still liked it. :)
