Maison Ikkoku is supposed to be coming out on DVD this summer. I hope Green Cine will pick up a copy when it's available.

I own the entire Manga series of Maison Ikkoku and I love it! I've re-read it many times over. This is Rumiko Takahashi's best work, imo.

Why doesn't greencine have ANY of Rumiko Takahashi's films?!?!?!?
She's THE GREATEST!

hmm... the two movies from Ranma 1/2 are here. Does she have many films? The Inu-Yasha movies are probably not released yet and I can't think of any others off the top of my head. I thought she was more into creating the story and art of series and manga rather than being involved in the movies...

hm, weird... I did a basic search for "rumiko" then "takahashi", and her character page didn't show up in the results for either search... which may be why you couldn't find her stuff. must be a blip in the search function -- I'll pass it on to the Ones Who Fix Such Stuff Here.

but as gg and markhl mentioned, GC does carry her series and the movies that are out on DVD.
Urusei Yatsura
Maison Ikkoku
Ranma 1/2
Inuyasha

we even have a character page for her, which I see is not completely populated (something to do with the accuracy of the data in the database):
Rumiko Takahashi

hope this helps! and I agree that rumiko takahashi is amazing. ;-p

Wow I remember Urusei Yatsura, it was one of the first anime pieces I saw along with Fist of the North star and Dragon Ball.
Where you might say could you see all three at the same time? on TF1 in france. Let me tell you anime in french is just cool.
Of course they had many more series in french that I just don't remember, there was something called Cobra I think where the guys arm was really a gun and every episode he would remove his arm to blast away. And another series that involved an odyssey across space with greek gods and such. Anyone have any idea what I am talking about with those last two series ?

OK, Greencine doesn't have Rumik World & Mermaid Saga which are both EXCELLENT.

Hmm.. the first one sounds awefully like Trigun... didn't know there was a similar predecessor. Interesting..

The second one sounds awefully like "Odin".. am I right?

ok.. curiosity had me look into it further. It's called "Cobra" (well imagine that... how original)

hmm i thought cobra was just the french name ;) odin looks like it could be it, but it was a series so maybe odin is the feature movie. I've put it in my queue. Where did you find cobra ? a quick search of GC didn't turn it up.

was it le cobra? haha.. It's not available in GC to my knowledge.. I just used a search engine - nothing fancy to locate it. Hmm.. I had forgotten that Odin was a movie - no series associated with it. It's probably something else since those space saga-type series were quite en vogue around that time. good luck finding it.

heh, I'll take a look around the usual anime sites and of course everyone else has already talked about anime review sites so if I find it I'll post a link to it.

Are y'all talking about this Cobra?

Can you send an e-mail to dvdrequest@greencine.com, and tell 'em Craig gave a thumbs up on ordering this one? We'll try to find a copy somewhere. :-)

(Assuming you meant that one, and not Space Adventure Cobra, the cheesy 70's Japanese sci-fi...)

Gotta love the guy that wrote that short synopsis. :)
