So, I rented this DvD the other day and found it very entertaining ^_^ I was wondering if the manga is good and how many series or ovas etc there are.

I haven't read any of the mangas, but if you want to see the entire TV and OVA series in order, refer to my Fushigi Yuugi list.

I've enjoyed what I've read of the manga. Fushigi Yugi was one of the first mangas I began to read. Sadly, I didn't get very far. I read the beginning and part of the middle of the manga, watched a good chunk of the anime series and my limited attention span wandered off. I do enjoy Yuu Watase's art (check out also Ceres and Alice the 19th).

Comparing the parts of the anime I've seen to the parts of the manga I've read, the series follows the manga fairly closely, taking the occasional liberties. They skip over one particularily enjoyable episode in the anime, but that's okay since they parody it in clips tagged onto the first of the ovas.

I think if you like the series, you probably will like the manga...

So I just started watching this anime this weekend, and I really enjoyed it. I also like all the magical girl animes (Sailor Moon and CC Sakura), The Slayers, Escaflowne, and Inu Yasha.

Can you guys reccomend some more stuff I might like?

thanks a ton.

Have you already seen Magic Knights Rayearth? I'm really enjoying Scrapped Princess and Fullmetal Alchemist on fansubs.

I just finished watching Scrapped Princess the other day. I hope that one gets picked up (liscensed) soon.

If we're recommending magical girl animes, then I have to say I really enjoyed Pretear. It's a rather short series, only 13 episodes, that is currently coming out on dvd. Himeno gets not one magic girl costume, but 7(I haven't seen the 7th one though)! One for each of her knights and her powers change depending on which knight she is currently joined with.

GC has the first 2 volumes up (Sorry, I don't know how to link stuff :( ).
