The new season starts January 21.

I wonder how they are ever going to find that crazy island again.

Oh I can't wait! I rewatched some of the last season again just as a refresher course. But yeah. so many crazy things to explain.

Remind me again, is this the last season or is there to be one more after it? I kinda hope this is the last one, as much as I love it, because I want closure man!

I believe there is one more season after this. I know what you mean, though. It's kind of nerve-wracking to see them juggle all that plot and all those characters for too many seasons.

Yep, fairly certain the show will wrap up at the end of Season 6. So we got 2 years of the most enjoyable/aggravating show on television! Can't wait :)

Tonight's the night.

Word has it that the show is just going to get more science fiction-y from here on out, and that it would be difficult or impossible for a new viewer to start watching Season 5 and have any idea of what is going on.

Nice! More time travelin', paradoxical fun for the whole family!

No spoilers here from East Coasters!

Well, that was certainly... crazy.

It was a great episode, too, even if I occasionally felt like I needed a map and a degree in quantum physics to track everything that was going on (not that they intended to explain everything this episode anyway).

Nice to see Ana Lucia again, even if briefly! And even if (presumably) dead.

And the woman at the end -- she was the same one that wanted to keep Desmond from getting married right? Who the hell is she?

Do you suppose she could be Daniel Faraday's mom?

Nice Hurley moment: "Maybe if you ate more comfort food you wouldn't have to go around shooting people." Haha!

Flaming arrows and yet another angry faction on the island? It was crazy.

Apparently, the bit with the guy who Sawyer kept calling "Frogurt" was basically an inside joke for the serious Losties.

I had the same thought. I mean why not, nothing else really follows logic anymore, and there are always coincidences. I love time travel stuff but am worried they're gonna use that as a crutch, laze their way out of things.

The Got Milk? ("Aaron Burrrr") guy!

I am a total Lost NoOb and I gotta say, that intro to Lost that they premiered before the show was really cool and informative! Sure I had to have my Lost-obsessed buddy nearby to fill in some gaps, but, I still thoroughly enjoyed the season opener without having seen any of the previous seasons and only 2 episodes in full. So for those who are fearful to jump in, watch the intro and you'll be alright. From the sounds of it even die-hard fans watch the show half-confused anyway ;)

The rapid-fire whole-series synposis on one of the Season 4 bonus discs is hilarious and essential.

You'd think at this point the LOST thread would be on FIREEEEEE!

Anyone have some good theories to throw out there? I'm absolutely loving the pace this season has taken up. Whereas previous seasons you'd get a meaty "reveal" type episode followed by a filler one, I think everything aired so far has been crammed with a big "WTF!!!" moment that we love about the show. Thoughts on Widmore's past and the implications it has on the overall story?

Not to mention the fact that Desmond and Penny's son is named Charlie!

In regard to Widmore, at least we now have a clue as to why he's so obsessed with the island.

Speaking of Daniel Faraday's mom... forgot to ask this earlier, but do you think that kinda hot British chick with the gun trained on Daniel is actually his mom, or someone else he knows? Wasn't that hinted at in their interactions?

Not until I read the AVClub's recap of that episode. It makes sense, but it could just be somebody else who seemed vaguely familiar in his time travels.

It's funny how some critics have totally given up on this show and others are totally into it. The sci fi aspect leaves some critics cold.

Wow, the action and plot developments are not letting up!

So, has Jin been out there unconscious, flashing through time in unison with the rest of the gang, floating on that piece of wreckage?

That's the problem with them going full on time travel this season, is that they can sort of do anything they want now. There were a few time flashes/jumps that seemed contrivances. But on the other hand, it sure is a fun ride now. Anyway, who knows, with Jin, presumably he'll tell more of his side of the story soon. He sure looked sunburned -- maybe that was all the time flashes!

So that's Russo, pregnant, at the end there? Which then means Ben isn't the biological father of the daughter he later (earlier) lets get killed... right?

My head hurts -- I think I have a nosebleed from all the time jumps, too!

Oh, and Miles has to be the son of Dr Pierre Chang, right? That's gotta be. That part of the first episode makes more sense now. It's why Miles actually has been to the island much more than he realizes.

Oh man, I didn't even think about that! It would make total sense. And from the looks of it, the gene to be an a**hole seems to have transferred down from father to son!

I assumed the kinda hot British chick was Miles' mom. Doesn't the gray-haired physicist lady we assume as his mother, also have blue eyes?

I'm just blown away by the pacing of the show now. Traditionally, you figure the season would've built up to the ending episodes with them returning to the island, but now it seems likely that in the next 3~4 episodes they'll be back!
