I'm having an issue where I don't get the maximum number of dvd's checked out to me. My queue has over 600 titles in it with plenty of green, so that's not the problem. This has happened to me several times now in the past few weeks.

I contacted customer service about this and all they said was that they would forward my problem to the tech service people. Meanwhile, I'm still experiencing these problems.

Any advice or anyone else having this same problem?

You didn't lock your queue, did you?

Nope, it's never been locked.

I've never heard of a problem like that. Weird! Do you have unreleased or unavailable movies in the top slots, particularly the #1 slot?

As of right now, my top 189 slots are filled with released, available dvd's.

it is pretty weird.
the only thing I can really think of is the possibility that they got released to shipping, then pulled back. That happens somewhat frequently when I return a lot of dvds at once (which doesn't really happen that frequently at all). I'm not too familiar with how things work behind the scenes but it seems like it must be a technical problem with the way discs are assigned and distributed.
I can't say that that would be your problem (or even that it's really that common) but if you're on 8-out or 10-out and usually return them all in one batch, it's a possibility.

Well, as weird as that answer sounds, that's the most likely explanation so far. I usually go for the 3-out plan, but this past month was going to be slow both work and school-wise for me, so I knew I would have time for lots of dvd viewing (plus, I just cancelled my cable TV subscription) so I went for the 10-out plan for 1 month.

I'll be going back to a 2 or 3-out plan soon, we'll see if the problem continues.

It would be nice to hear an official explanation from a GC administrator.

I hope that fixes it, but if this has happened several times, lately, that makes me think it can't be pulled shipments. Those seem to be really rare. The system ought to be able to give you something with all those green titles.

Like I said in the 1st post, I already did. They said they don't know why it was doing this and they would contact their tech support, but there's still no resolution.

And it looks like you have 8 checked out now, but have downgraded to the 5 out plan - correct? So I wonder if that's affecting how many you have out at the moment. But perhaps there's other weirdness afoot. At any rate, as GG said, we're trying to expedite the help you get on this; expect resolution soon. Thanks!
