author topic: Has GreenCine begun throttling?

I've noticed that after having a disc marked as received there is more than a 24 hour wait between having the next one in my queue released to shipping. That's some shady behavior, guys, if you're throttling lie NF without letting us know. I only have a 2 out account so having to wait more than a day to get my next disc shipped significantly affects how many movies I get a month. I don't like this.

They did the same thing to me, only in 3 business days they still hadn't shipped my 4th movie on my 4 at a time subscription.

Is something going on at GreenCine??

I have not been experiencing the delays in discs being shipped, but have suddenly been experiencing major delays in mailing.
If it happens once or twice I usually chalk it up to a Postal Service glitch. But delivery has consistantly taken an extra 2-5 days in the last two weeks.

I live about 2 miles from GreenCine's office. Why would it suddenly take 5 (business) days to ship mailers when it usually took 1 day? Even during the busiest times of the year like Xmas delivery has never been so drastically delayed.

Anyone else experiencing greater than usual lag time in mail delivery?

Sorry, the last time we started speculating, GC deleted our messages. Hope you see this before they do.

Yes, I've noticed that they delete those messages too. I think it is partly because they have been bought out by cbt media group. cbt media group runs several porn dvd rental sites and has been a real problem with overcharging their customers and charging people after they have canceled their subscriptions.

End of the business day today and still nothing was sent, that's two days now. If this continues I'll be canceling and heading over to NF. I was willing to put up with the long shipping time (sometimes 6+ days each way) from West coast to East in order to support a smaller business and avoid throttling, but it looks like even with throttling I'll be getting NF DVD's faster and cheaper. You guys are screwing the one thing you had going for you for east coast customers.

Wow, this is going to suck if the rumor mill is spitting out fact... I will switch services if GreenCine has been overtaken by some soulless amoeba type company. (that type of company has vamped a few companies I really liked to death)

And yeah, sent in discs a week ago, one finally registered as received with no typical same day turnaround, feels really really weird. I'm not used to seeing delays in the me-to-them direction, past a day or two at most.

Hey, all. First, the answer to the question posed in the subject line of this topic is a resounding, "No."

But in answer to DLeonard's question, yes, there is something going on at GreenCine. But relax, everybody: GC is most definitely not in soulless hands.

There is a move going on, yes, and that'll probably be causing some temporary delays in shipping, but they are temporary.

More info will be forthcoming. Very soon - really!

I'm adding my voice to the complaints. I live across the bay from the GC offices. My transit time has jumped recently from 1 day to 3 days in the last three cases. And I have noticed a 24 hour wait before they released my last video to shipping.

If you guys are reading this let us know what happening. If you delete my post without response, I'm cancelling my service.

We're your customers, don't act like you're doing us a favor.

Thanks David for shedding a little light on this. Hopefully some more substantial info is coming soon, as in by tomorrow. At this point I have no discs at home and nothing being sent.

Has anyone been sent a disc in this week?
How many days after a return did it take to get sent the next disc?

Good to hear things might work out in this thread, partially because company red doesn't have what interests me (despite claiming large numbers in the category of interest), and company blue has played enough latefee games on me that I want to start running around playing a Terminator 1 style "I'll be back" scene on them, assuming I'd ever want to pay them the courtesy of looking in their direction again (HAH).

All my discs register as received now, which makes me think GreenCine is at least 50% recovered and rising. (and optimism cranked up, they've prolly got better digs now, which will afford them greater efficiency and enhance their superhuman powers)

Heck, maybe their new location is an orbital station, allowing them to bypass the postoffice one way, and deliver discs in under an hour (once they're done moving, lotta stairs to climb now). :-)

Hooray!!
2 titles sent out today!

All in all a minor inconvenience, but I'm glad to see things getting back on track.

I just got a disc that was sent (to San Jose, CA) on Monday.

I think the shipping label (with my name and address) has changed... There's now the disc id and what i assume is my customer number printed above my name.

Also, the address for return shipping is now
GreenCine.com
P.O. Box 8469
Van Nuys, CA 91409-8469

Looks like they have a new shipping facility....

We were going to make this announcement later, but it seems like some of you have caught on already. Greencine has just upgraded their shipping department and gone with a shipper called CBT. They do shipping for several companies and have multiple distribution centers. In the following months youll see your movies get to you much faster than before, especially our East Coast customers. We listened to your emails and we ASSURE you, your East Coast mailboxes will be filled with our wonderful Green envelopes sooner than you think.

To clear the air - Greencine is still RAN and STAFFED by the same cinephiles youve come to know and love. David Hudson, Underdog and the rest of the gang will still fill your days with the same passion as we always have.

In the upcoming weeks youll see things like a faster website, a deeper selection of currently available titles as well as a broader selection of titles. Youll also see more features as well as contests on Greencine. Were ramping up to deliver more to you than ever before.

Nothing was mailed to me for five days and prior to that I received two broken disks. I didn't get to watch any movie for one week. Then this morning my queue said they shipped yesterday three disks of which one I've already seen and one which I was only asking why it wasn't removed from my queue as having been received by them. I still have not received anything and I doubt if they really mailed it to me yesterday before the post office closed. It usually takes just one day after they post in my queue that they mailed it to me. I hope they can straighten their act soon.

Great to hear that there's now a distribution site on the east coast. I just joined but had noticed an inconsistency of shipping and receiving. Thought some of it was on my end, but have to wait a while to see for sure. . . please please please DOOOO improve shipping and receiving for those of us on the east coast. . . we like you!!!!> On July 19, 2007 - 9:40 PM PDT weezy wrote:

I am thisclose to canceling my membership. It is taking forever to check-in the discs (I live on the east coast but it is now taking longer than before) and in addition it is taking several days after receiving them to ship new titles to me.

In addition there has been no response to a problem report I told them about on July 14. I reported a problem on that date and received the standard reply with the case number. On July 19, after not receiving a reply I sent in a new problem report inquiring as to why the first problem report had not been handled. In addition I questioned why discs were taking longer to ship. I again received the standard reply with a new case number. Today I received an email that said in part;

"I apologize for the shipping delay, and for not having responded to your previous customer support inquiry. Over the period of 7/1607 and 7/17/07 we were experiencing some difficulties here processing shipments and with our email system."

They still did not address the original problem report that they received on July 14. I again sent a problem report asking why they haven't responded to the first one and again received a new case number but no answer to the problem.

This makes me believe that they really don't give a damn about us. All someone had to do was look up the first problem report using the case number I gave them and then handle it. If they couldn't find it they could have asked me what that problem is.

All of this wasted time is REALLY NOT WORTH IT!

Ahhhh, freedom of speech at it's finest. I wonder if my previous post will get the same treatment?

Glad I wasn't the only one tearing my hair out and constantly checking my q....and empty mailbox.
Sounds like things are going to go in a better direction here soon, but what about those of us who just spent over a week without movies or explanation?
My StingyBone is aching- how about some cinematic retribution. The membership is paid in currency ya know- I could have been spending that at the local video store and gee I don't know- watching some movies.
