Hey folks,
We're certainly aware that those of you in the Bay Area have been receiving wildly varied results with shipping times. Some people (yes, at this point they are the silent majority, though it's fairly close to a tie) have seen their times each way decrease to very fast again, 2 days. Others of you are still obviously experiencing serious delays. We take those serious delays...well, seriously! While we've been doing things like working with specific post offices and researching different envelope designs to see what can be done to alleviate what is basically major blockage in one direction or another from or to the bay area, we know that this won't solve everything, and also takes a bit of time to research and implement.

So what else are we doing, you ask?

Well, we wanted this to wait, but hopefully by next week we will deploy something that will alleviate the delayed shipping returns automatically. We won't disclose the name of this process yet but, in essence we will guarantee 2 day turn-around using it.

More on this within a week!

Thanks again for all your patience, your feedback, and your openness. We do read all our mail, and all the boards.

More soon!

Also: Now, if you'd like to use this thread in response, you can, but don't ask for us to give you anything more specific than the above (unless you want us to give a completely silly, Monty Python-esque response ;-)). You can also post here to give specific information that could further help us as we investigate up and down shipping times to SF. That means, as some of you have done in the other thread, where you send from -- a mailbox or a post office or your home, etc -- and what neighborhood, how long it's been taking one way in each direction, and, heck, if it's actually pretty fast, feel free to tell us that, too!

That kind of information. Again, more from us soon.

Happy weekend.

I'd like to pitch in here by saying we've been compiling shipping data from the past three months and submitting it along with your feedback when investigating post-office hold ups. Jnissel has been so kind as to send us his very detailed shipping-tracking log from the past few months, which includes the date when HE received the discs. Although we have dummy discs that track this sort of information, the more we can compile the better! So kindly send it along to support@greencine.com, if you feel so inclined :)

Yes, what Weezy said. Send that detailed info to support. We are tracking there. Easier to do that then track on the boards (though I know cathartically it makes people feel better). Thanks again!

You can post your favorite dessert recipes here, though.

This news sounds Sweet! Nothing says I love GC more than nutella, so here ya go:

Nutella Oatmeal Cookies

I wonder if there's a list of movies that included nutella in some form...

No changes to report out here in Michigan other than some missing rentals. Missing rentals are taken out of my queue which I'm grateful for however is there any way of knowing if these rentals ever made it back to GreenCine?

After being at 2 days back for a while, mine have moved up to 3 days most of the time. Still, 2 days each way isn't "very fast" for San Francisco considering it's still twice as long as we were used to.

Yeah, but at least it's steady. Mine... well seems to be return on monday recieve friday. Not that good.

I have to admit it does seem that on the whole for all members involved time is faster for all their members on a whole. On the other hand, I never did understand why east coasters would join a service located in SF.

OK, I've sent my info to the support email. For the record it's been a pretty consistent 4 days each way for this SF'er, hopefully the changes being talked about will get that down by at least a day each way. 8 days is too long for my patience. I kind of wish there was a way to see a "report card" of your local post office.

For this SF'er it is so mixed between 5 days down 2 days back or 3 days each way or 4 each way or even 5 each way that there is no consistency. If it would just get to either 2 or 3 days each way that would be fine. I run a shipping department and ship all over the world and know that it only takes 2 days each way to LA and back to the Bay area, so where is the problem, and why after all these WEEKS has it not gotten any better???? Do the discs actually arrive in two days then take 2 days to process????? Still twisting in the wind but the thread is getting mighty thinā?¦.
